What have you bought recently?

I'm waiting for this newly released Sigma zoom lens to become available for Sony mirrorless APS-c e-mount cameras like my a6700. A 17mm to 40mm zoom is equivalent to 25mm to 60mm full frame. I own 3 expensive, sharp, prime lenses plus a mediocre 19mm prime and a mediocre 16 to 50mm kit zoom, I wish to replace because I create highly detailed large images that I'll exhibit on large 8k pc monitor displays when they become available. I'll have to do some testing, but it may also replace my superb 30mm DC DN prime.

The above lens is being expensively priced at $919. In the past, for DSLRs, fixed primed lenses have nearly always had higher optical resolution and fidelity versus zoom lenses. But recent lens testing shows this carefully computer designed lens, incredibly breaks that limitation at all its focal lengths.

We hit Aldi as soon as it opened this morning. Still no mums:mad: and no discounted meat, either. Can't check tomorrow because DGD has pre-op appointments for her surgeries next week. By the time we get to Aldi again, they will have had mums, and they'll all be gone:cry:

My Pickup got very expensive in August. A new battery, new set of tires, and front end alignment all combined to do major damage to my check book.
Llynn at the beginning of the year I bught new brakes, 4 new Tyres, new suspension, new front grill, new exhaust ... in July another driver crashed into my car, and wrote it off... ..it cost me more in repairs and labour than the insurance paid for the whole car after the accident ...:cautious:

@StarSong hot wheels are the bomb!
They are! He's equally into trains and cars at the moment. At not quite 4 years old yet, he has no interest in model trains circling a track. He wants to be doing, not watching. I get it. I've always found model trains a total yawn within just a few minutes. Ditto powered slot cars. (DH is the exact opposite - loves the powered stuff.)

Serendipity being the stuff of life, it turns out our model trains' wheels fit inside the confines of the Hot Wheels tracks, and glide along nicely as long as we only lay down straightaways. HW track curve angles are too severe for the train cars.

So TGS happily pushes slot cars and train cars along on the tracks.

A Walther PPK/S .380 in black.

I was down to just one gun because I gave my car and carry gun to my daughter. A Smith And Wesson Model 60 snub nosed .38. So all I had was my Ruger GP 100 .357. That's fine for home protection but way too much to carry when I'm out and about. So I went for the cool factor and got the James Bond Gun. Also apparently Elvis Pressly carried one. :)

It's a really pretty little gun but really pricey too. I paid $927 OTD at Bass Pro Shops with my 5% veterans discount.

But it's cool and that's what counts. :)

And everyone needs a car gun.:)

This is going to sound a bit show-offy, but I've just bought another aeroplane. I already have two, and this will be my third. However, if I tell you how much each of the previous two cost, you will hopefully understand where I'm coming from.

The first one I bought cost me £1,000, and I've owned it for 8 years
The second one cost me £3,000 and I bought it earlier this year.
The new one I've just bought cost me £4,000 and I'm waiting for it to arrive.

Each of these planes are what we in the UK call Microlights, and the rest of the world call Ultralights. They are all single seat monoplanes that fly at around 50 - 60mph, and have a range of around 150 miles. When my new one arrives, assuming I get on with it and decide to keep it, I'll then sell the other two to recoup some of the cost, then stick with just the one plane going forward.

Here is a photo of my current 'fleet' of microlights, with the first one I bought furthest from the camera. Below that is a photo of the one I've just bought.

If all goes well then I'll sell the first two and just keep this one, as it embodies all the things I like about the other two, i.e. high wing monoplane with taildragger undercarriage and fully enclosed cockpit that's easy to get into and out of.

I ordered the same pair of Skecher Slip-ins that I’d bought before on Amazon in the spring. The chemical off-gassing nearly knocked me over when I opened the box. This pair was slightly larger so I had no hesitation sending them back.
