yep and what's worse is , people..many people have been imprisoned for not paying the fines for not having a TV licence...
A personal friend of mine refused to pay on prinicpal she doesn't watch the BBC ( it's the bbc who implemented the TV licence) instead she watched commerical tv with adverts .. and she was taken to court and fined.. she didn't/couldn't pay... so the police came at 6am and basically dragged her out of bed.. still in her nightie.. and took her to Holloway female Prison... ( which has now closed since 2016)
Some relatives paid her fine later that day.. and she was released out into the street the following morning ( the prison was in the middle of a particularly horrible and busy part of inner city London)... still in her nightgown .. having to stand outside the prison for several hours waiting for someone to come and collect her...and there's hundreds of similar stories
..but we're not the only country that requires a TV licence.. there's many more in Europe... but as far as I know we're the only one to imprison people for not having one.. or not paying the fines for not having one..

I bought a shelf unit from Costco to use in my garage for plants I’m overwintering. I never buy online and am proud to say I’ve never bought from Amazon. I have the time, am able, and find it fun to look for things in person, but I’m not much of a buyer so it’s not all that time consuming.
