What have you bought recently?

well if anyone deserves to have a wonderful celebration this year it's definitely you Llynn.. so I hope you have a fabulous time with your family
Thanks HD. You're very kind.

It was a wonderful dinner. Watching my daughter's offspring attack the table was amazing. One is right at 7 feet and the other two are only inches behind him. The turkey didn't stand a chance.

On another happy holiday note, on Thanksgiving eve my late Son's son got to bring home his wife and their twins (boy and girl). They were born two weeks ago and had to remain in the hospital for a bit. All doing well now.

A Bluetooth thermal Label printer... and some batteries ( not for the printer)......

A Retractable lumnious tape measure..

because my tape measure has stopped locking and it keeps snapping back painfully on my fingers....

A small tool bag to carry a few things in the boot of my car.... the tool bag I had in my last car is to big for the small boot (trunk) in the new car

My guestroom is small and has a double bed in it and I never have two people at once as guests anymore except for my youngest son and his girlfriend. I had been wanting to put a twin bed in there and so I decided that when they come to visit, I will give them my bedroom and sleep in the guest room.

So I have bought a comforter, sheets, etc., for a twin bed. I have my double bed on Facebook marketplace for sale and once I get rid of it, I will go shopping for a twin bed. My girlfriend spends the night one night a week, but she doesn’t care if she sleeps in a twin bed either and I’ll be sleeping in it two weeks out of the year so intend to buy a good quality bed.

Aha! My patience has indeed paid off. All Google Pixel 10 PRO smartphone Black Friday deals were over this last month at $749 or $250 off list price. But now Cyber Monday, Best Buy has just reduced that another $50 to $699. So in an hour, will drive a couple miles to our nearby Best Buy store and see if I can pick one up. Note sales tax is another $70 so this new reduction at least takes care of most of that. Will be the first time buying a phone for more than $200.

Will purchase new Smartphone

Well, just Amazon ordered that will receive next Sunday 12/7/2025. I first drove 2 miles to a Best Buy store with the same just reduced cost, but they only had Obsidian (black) models in local stock and no other colors at other stores. Have more minor items to purchase today, so more work on Amazon. This will be my first smartphone for over $200. More on the decision on this thread:

Will purchase new Smartphone

I bought a few digital albums and EPs on Black Friday then we went and got a refrigerator to replace the one we know is going out. We got a good deal on it so we're happy with that and look forward to a worry free refrigerator again.
So much better to be proactive about replacing dying appliances rather than keeping them until they fail and you're in dire straits.

Well, she dealt a lot with dogs and horses, and she was older than I am by quite a large margin, Ms. HD! Why, I do believe she was even older than you!
she didn't deal with dogs and horses the sameway we do.. she had stable staff... and even the butlers took the dogs for their walks.... stroking a dog or a horse doesn't give you gnarled old hands...

..and as I'm only 70... and the queen would now be 100 years old in a few months ( my father and her were born the same week).. she was significantly older than me .

After sitting on a Cyber Monday order with 4 minor items, could not immediately recall a couple other items I had thought about in recent days. A common issue with this 77 year old senior that takes more time to recall recently thought about things. So after purchasing the above Pixel 10 Pro this morning, finally recalled it was street maps I needed so just added the below items for $99 bucks.

My inside vehicle SF map is at this point overly mutilated from use. Since I may be driving up to Berkeley occasionally for live music events, need a paper map for that too. The black shoes today were 25% off judt for today. I wear such cheap shoes out in just a few months from dancing, haha. The only Pop-Tarts I've ever liked are these unfrosted brown sugar cinnamon ones that have an unusual doughy taste. I already have glow in dark strontium aluminate tape and acrylic paint that is useful for marking things in glow in the dark. The powder form one adds into other forms, offers more options.

is that Amazon ?... why is delivery taking so long ?
I ordered a Thermal printer at around 1am this morning, it arrived 2 hours ago... at 8.15pm..in the dark and pouring rain.. I tipped the driver, anyone who can come out in this weather to earn a crust especially as she'd come from London... is worth all the tips they can get

Today i bought myself a new breadmaker. Yeast and I don't get along but I had an old breadmaker that made great bread and rolls dough. It finally gave up and at 84 thought I'd not buy anymore kitchen appliances! BUT...I couldn't resist this little baby breadmaker. Compact, carrying handle, lightweight. Makes a small loaf but that's fine. Love the smell of bread baking especially when it's cold outside. When the son asks what I'd like for a gift I'll let him pay for it!

I’m guessing that he doesn’t have prime and neither do I. In the states if you order $35 of merchandise, you get free shipping, but it doesn’t come that fast. Today I ordered all the bedding for the twin bed that I’m going to buy and most of it comes on Sunday, but some is not coming till next Tuesday.

here in the uk if you don't have prime it usually arrives in 4 days

In my working life I would dress in a reserved coloured pinstripe suit, white shirt, company tie and highly polished black shoes, said shoes would be plain and definitely not brogues. Dear oh dear, if my former regional manager saw my new shoes today.....................

The colour is dubbed, Caribbean Blue. The laces will definitely not be black, I will buy a white pair later on today.
The fabric for the new Aloha shirt hasn't arrived yet. The plain blue fabric is my wife's suggestion for a pair of trousers to complete the outfit.

HollyDolly, don't forget that the UK is rather smaller than the US. So there's bound to be an Amazon depot within 50 miles of wherever you live. That's not necessarily the case in the US.
hahaha.. did you really think that I forgot the USA was bigger than us?..:ROFLMAO: but you're correct there's an Amazon depot 15 miles away in Enfiled.. as you very likely already know... then the next nearest is over 50 miles away....

There is an Amazon warehouse right in my town so if I buy something that they have there, I’ll usually get it within a day or two. However, what I bought is coming from the East Coast.

Here 15 miles is London.. so it might as well be 50 miles because of the horrendous traffic.. and the length of time it takes to get through....

if I drive 15 miles in the opposite direction, it take me 15 minutes.. whereas if I go the 15 miles to London and this particular Amazon it can take 45 minutes very easily...

Let me guess, you go down the A10 to get into the Smoke. As you know, we're next to the A1, a few miles West of you. What you probably don't know is that they've just changed the speed limit both in and out, so from the M25 South it's now 50mph in both directions the whole way till you get to Sterling Corner, and then after a short 30mph section it's 50mph again down to Apex Corner as well.
