What have you bought recently?

Yesterday- 4 packs of cigarettes, an individual-sized cake, and a newspaper.

I'm trying to pull back on purchases outside of food and other necessities. We have TOO MUCH STUFF already. (Can you tell I'm in decluttering mode?) My mindset is in pare down rather than accumulate mode.

DH just had a $600 dental bill for a night retainer to keep his bottom teeth from shifting. Apparently that's common with age. (So tired of hearing, "At your age..."

I can scrimp on pennies but the big expenses just keep a-coming. đź’¸

yes apparently the gums shrink... this is often why you will see older people whose teeth look too big for their mouth

Just ordered 3 kinds of vitamins from Amazon.
Also got a WiFi adapter for my new PC. The new one has an antenna for better signal reception.

^^^Preparing for an invasion? "One if by land, two if by sea" please let us know asap.
Today I ordered a power generator for 250 euro for my fridge and then I read on a prepper forum that a prepper said it's lousy and better just dig a hole to keep stuff cool, so I canceled it. It stinks, is loud. It's like putting a moped in your flat if you ask me. But better watch out for our army!

The 2 Dutch soldiers - oh sorry officers, whatever - leave Greenland:

I bought myself a nice pair of bookshelf speakers. I love music and since the place we spend the winter is small we usually listen at a lower volume and close to the speakers. It's called near-field listening. But we had the speakers from the RV which you would lose half the music when you turn the volume down. It was so bad I eventually just stopped listening. So finally this winter I splurged and got a pair that sounds good at low volume, even down to the deep bass notes. I also built a small music streamer to push them. Even my wife noticed how much nicer it sounds and I would definitely not call her an audiophile. Best purchase I have made in a long time.

We have a summer wedding to go to this year so, I just had a look in the sales and ordered a pair of leather sandals and a summer dress, hopefully I like them when they arrive as it will be a nice outfit at a bargain price 🤞

A measuring jug, a dish for the air fryer and some tracing paper for a project.

An adjustable bed frame from the local furniture store. Scholet.

Lavender sheets from Walmart.

A mattress in a box, mattress & pillow protectors, 2 pillows, lavender extract, Rao's marinara & tomato sauce, coffee pods, 4 adult coloring books, Zevia & paper supplies (paper towels, Kleenex & toilet tissue) from Amazon. Yeah, I bought a lot this month.

Since as a landscape photographer often out in the field camping and backpacking where there is no electrical power, today received from Amazon today for just $24 this modern era 15 watt or ~2.8 amperes at a voltage regulated 5v output with USB-A and USB-C connector portable ruggedized solar charger that weighs a mere 10.6 ounces that folds up to 7.8" by 8.8" by 0.7". P=EI= (2.8*5.0=14.0 watts). Of course in this era, this old tech person has a lot of little toys that don't run by twisting some mechanical crank.

This afternoon my top end Google Pixel 10 PRO smartphone with a large 4870 mahr lithium battery showed its power was at 55%. I placed the solar charger sort of pointing perpendicularly at 3pm to 5pm at sunshine coming through an upstairs bedroom condo window. By time I returned home about 5:30pm, my Pixel was 100% charged that I thought was rather impressive.
