I'm not sure what you mean by average home.. ?No we don't use them here... at least not in the average home...
This is an apartment, there are two air conditioners but I don't like to use them unless it's absolutely necessary.

Just saw this now. I've never bought any jewelry insurance. Most of my expensive jewelry is in a bank safety deposit box. For special occasions or to change things up, I swap some out now and then.I added a rider to our home insurance for my jewellery. It was insured with a company that specialized in this. Originally they had great prices. No longer. They kept nagging me to put them on auto pay. The rider is half of the price of what I was paying.
Should have mentioned that the safety deposit box runs a mere $50 per year.Just saw this now. I've never bought any jewelry insurance. Most of my expensive jewelry is in a bank safety deposit box. For special occasions or to change things up, I swap some out now and then.
Knowing my jewelry is secure brings me great peace of mind, especially when I'm traveling so my home is unoccupied.
I use one too that has some sentimental pieces in it. Mostly it’s for important papers. This rider is mainly for something I wear most of the time.Should have mentioned that the safety deposit box runs a mere $50 per year.
