What have you bought recently?

That's so great; @StarSong. I was speaking to my godmother last week; she's in Sacramento, and she said her daughter (who I think is also up in the north part of the state) brings her oranges from the tree in her yard and they make fresh-squeezed orange juice. It sounded delicious. And I use lemon a lot (tea, plain water, on fresh fish), so the thought of having one literally at hand sounds so nice.

I'll have to try those directions sometime, @hollydolly . I'm hopeless with anything that involves flour, actually. I do like to cook, though.

Maybe I'll practice ahead of time. I've already told my younger daughter I'm going to rent a local Airbnb this coming holiday season so I can host her and her boyfriend and prepare a real home-cooked meal. (My apartment is way too small.)
Honestly it takes just a few minutes to make... as long as you beat or whisk the batter until there are big air bubbles, and then pour it into the HOT oil.. you can't go wrong.. very easy to make ! The secret is in ensuring the oil is very hot in a preheated oven... I hope you try.... (y)

We stopped making OJ from our tree's oranges. We just each eat an orange or two per day when the tree is fully fruiting, and give some extras to our kids and neighbors.

OJ is nearly as sweet as soda and causes about the same sugar spike in one's body. Eating an orange includes a lot of fiber (way more than OJ with pulp), that slows down the sugar hit.

I bought an adjustable dumb bell. 5-25 lbs. I try to hit the gym 3-4 days a week, but this sits beside my desk and hopefully gets use between gym visits. I also upgraded to Windows 11 Pro. My computer crashed a few days ago and getting it back running again.

I also have a backyard orange tree and lemon tree - both full size - which is why I was wondering about the mini ones you and HD were mentioning. This is a photo of my orange tree back in December 2023. It's blossoming right now and will fruit over winter. The lemon tree isn't nearly as prolific, but it conveniently produces ripe fruit several times a year. I can pick a ripe lemon about 50% of the time.

I noticed my lemon tress were blossoming yesterday too, and it still has lemons on it. Is this normal?
