What have you bought recently?

Thinner in the bank account yet again. 10 more blue star creeper, 10 more impatiens, a dozen begonias, some phlox, a bright purple trailing verbena, 10 tall snapdragons, and a pretty yellow lupine.

So far the snapdragons, impatiens, phlox and blue star creeper have been planted.

I've tried lupine down here before, but it's really not happy in our heat. This time I'm going to plant it in a pot and move it to the shade under the magnolia after it's done blooming. Maybe it'll work. We called lupine "horsetails" in Michigan. They started popping up and blooming before the ground was even thawed and appeared in pink, white and blue. I've never seen a yellow one before.

My flower allowance is almost gone :(. My bank account is getting thinner by the hour💸💸. It's still March, but there's only about $250 left in what I was allowing myself for the garden this season. Looks like my savings is going to take a hit...

Trying to hold that line on most spending in 2026. No particular reason why, just noticing the steady drip, drip, drip out of my checking account for impulse buys of this and that.

Mostly avoiding Costco and letting things languish in my Amazon cart for a few weeks before sure helps. After a while, I wonder why I wanted most of them. Like I said, impulse buys. We're not discussing necessities like @Georgiagranny's flowers!

It's easy to put the brakes on buying stuff. Unless the stuff is flower stuff. I have no problem at all with not spending on what other people think constitutes necessity. I know what's important💐
