What have you done once..and would you never do again....

In my early days in the Navy & newly married we were going to have company. Plastic salt & pepper shakers was all we could afford. My bride wanting things to be perfect asked me to make sure those were both full & working right. Being new to domestic chores my solution was to wash & dry both.

Got the washing done right it was drying those in the oven where it went wrong. Seems plastic & heat don't get along to well. Bent over plastic salt & pepper shakers don't work right.

Go on a cruise. Constantly surrounded by not necessarily good food and frequently not necessarily entertaining entertainment. Every stop is populated by seemingly obligatory jewelry stores and souvenir shops. Then the tours! When I am traveling alone or with a companion, I can stop at interesting sights, meet the people, eat lunch where I wish, go for a walk, explore the shops, and see what I like for as long as I like. Cruise tours on the other hand are in a cramped bus or tour truck that probably goes where and when I would rather not and may not linger where I would prefer

Go to college and get a degree
Fly in a small craft plane.
Fly to Texas. 3 hours in the air is just too boring.
Come back after my death and have another lifetime.
Get married.
3 hours in a plane is just too boring? I'm amazed.
How else could I have seen parts of every continent besides S America and Antarctica?

I love flying in small aircraft. That is certainly not boring.

I wouldn't marry again. 60 years with the same man is enough for me.
I wouldn't like to break in a new one.

Look through one of those telescopes that are found on seaside promenades.... I did once, and some mean beggar had put some black substance around the eyepiece.... for the rest of the day, everyone that looked at me must have thought that someone had given me a black eye. 😊

When I was 21 I went up in a small craft plane for about 15 minutes in the air. It was very exciting and interesting since we flew over areas I knew very well.

My father did the same thing when he was about the same age. He liked it so much he thought he'd like to become a pilot.

He enlisted in the army where he flew planes, for 5 years during WW2, from India to China over the Alps, nicknamed "the Hump".

He never flew after the war because of too many close calls.

He said when they teach you to fly it's fair weather but rarely are conditions so agreeable when you fly missions.

I agree with your outlook on marriage.

You're still pretty young! Why don't you go after what you REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want?
Don't settle for something else because someone else expects t:his of you or because it's the easiest way.
Come on Patty! Do what you really want to do, even if it scares you! Take chances!
(just my opinion)
:) Yes, but sometimes duty gets in the way. Sometimes when it's a done deal, we have to sleep in the bed we made. Sometimes life just sucks.. The stoics say all this suffering builds character. I say the hell with suffering, just grin and make it fun even if it kills you..

Have you done ALL of these before???? 😀
Wait, are you talking near death experience?
Oh no...LOL

I just reread what I wrote just before coming to your comment. It does sound as if I've come back.

What I should have said was one life time is enough. If there is reincarnation and you're supposed to come back and have another life, I'm saying "no thanks".

Thinking back I've done some pretty crazy things in my life but if the clock were turned back, I was the same age and under the same circumstances I'd more than likely do them all (good or bad) again......I survived them all and I have the memories of my wilder / dumber days.
