What I couldn't get this week shopping

My appetite is returning from chemo and radiation and I went to the store three times today and not taking it easy or safe. Pizza, fries, frozen foods. Sardines and tons of fish, ice cream and anything to fry. I'm gonna enjoy for a few weeks while I fatten up.
Three trips to the store? You got your exercise in for the day. Good to hear that you are fattening up.

I should just report when I don’t go to a grocery store. It’s basically every day. Twice yesterday and realized I forgot red onions. Walked to another store today and drove to bakeshop for bread.

It’s senior Thursday which means 20% discount, so bought a supply of sunscreen. It’s the only place I can get the overpriced products I want; good thing there’s a discount.

Cocktail bread for tea sandwiches. I have my cucumber, and my lemon–dill cream cheese, and now I can't find the darn bread. The stores here used to have it. Grr.
Yes. I never see that anymore. Also, Pepperidge Farm used to make a white and wheat very thin loaf. I stopped seeing that too. Sometimes I want more filling than bread but still use two slices.

We were looking for a special pole to help pull leaves from our gutter downspouts. The manager of a big box store spent 20+ minutes searching high and low for one he knows they carried. He tried several sections with no luck. I was really impressed how he was knocking himself for a $5 item. He’ll get our business again.

We ended up ordering something from Amazon.

That's nice; customer service like that seems hard to find these days!

Red or green grapes are usually available here, though not always at a price per pound I'm willing to pay. Other colors are much rarer. Same in NJ?
We are probably referring to the same grapes (they are called red...I say purple). I usually see the green and red (purple) ones here. I don't know about prices. I just recently started back buying grapes since I had pretty much given up on fresh fruit because either they are on the Dirty Dozen list or don't taste good. I recently tried grapes because they were on sale at our local supermarket and they were so delicious, I bought more. We have a farmer's market not too far away, which my son goes to. Their prices are likely better. I haven't been myself in a long time.
