What interesting titbit of trivia can you tell us about you ?

If you live in New York City long enough (at least in the 1970's and 1980's), sooner or later you'll have a run in with the Mob. I worked at a place in Greenwich Village. The Mafia owned all of the carting companies in the city. They removed the trash for all businesses. Early one morning they started a fire in the 50 gallon drums we put our trash in. Then they moved them near the front of the building that was mainly wood and glass. When I arrived the next morning, the whole front of the building was burned out.

The reason? Our company refused to rent a dumpster. So they kept stealing our drums, trying to force the company to rent their dumpster.
One of our bosses threatened the mob run company and said he will take pictures of the thugs stealing the drums. Nothing happened for about a month, and then the fire. The owner had to pay over $100,000 for repairs. Today it would be over a million.

That why citizens of the city loved it when there would be those mob rub outs. We loved seeing the mobsters kill each other.

One of the reasons I hated school was having to wear a tie. Like you I can't stand having anything around my neck, and even now I don't feel comfortable wearing a scarf, even though it's loose, not tight like a shirt collar. Oh, and I never wear shirts either. It's T shirts and jumpers for me.
Just about everybody in the last sixty years in the Western world seems to know about the Beatles (and, I suppose, the Rolling Stones). With the Beatles, there are countless pictures of them that we've seen (especially since the internet), and much has been published about their childhoods.

To me, growing up in western Canada, it's always been kind of humorous to see pictures of those iconoclastic trend-setters of the late '60s as young schoolboys with ties and pressed white shirts.😮☺️

I'd say the dude was very lucky that it was only money he had to pay with for threatening the mob! Not the ending I was expecting you to report. @Paladin1950

The Thanksgiving dinner Saturday Evening Post Norman Rockwell painting resurfaces this time of year. Rockwell often used his doctor and friend Dr Campbell as a model. One of my young son's friends was connected to that family. When we lived un Providence RI we had occasion to visit his house in charming Stockbridge, MA, where they all lived. There was a Rockwell painting on the wall.

I remember going to the historic settlement in Stockbridge, MA back in the 80's. Haven't been back since, but I really enjoyed it.
