This is a terrible...terrible story...
but I hate to say this.. could it possibly be taken somewhere else..onto another thread.. this is really just meant to be a light hearted thread....
It must have been 8 years ago or so that I heard a news item broadcast by the Vancouver outlet of CBC radio. A guy drove his motorcycle in evening on a quiet straight stretch of a coastal British Columbia highway. His bike was equipped with a speedometer that could display very high speeds. The report said he'd reached something like 150mph, and police had subsequently taken action.I once pegged out my motorcycle at 128 mph. while tripping on Mr. Natural acid. In my head I wasn't moving at all, the world was moving past me.
Oh yeah. When we moved here from Germany, it was like night and day. The people were nice. My mom saw a huge billboard advertising a town-wide family picnic. She hurried to a new friend's house to see if she and her children would like go with our family. The neighbor lady sat her down and explained who was throwing the party and what they stood for: The KKK. This was in the mid-60s.I've only ever seen segregation on tv or online ... and always either in the USA...or South Africa... its just unbelievable..
Can you move it??????????? That is if it is my terrible story. This is a terrible...terrible story...but I hate to say this.. could it possibly be taken somewhere else..onto another thread.. this is really just meant to be a light hearted thread....
No, its the police story and The Amish slaughter....Can you move it??????????? That is if it is my terrible story.
thank you Seadoug...it's a story well worth telling.. as is 911's awful tragic story.... but they're too serious I feel to be on this Trivia type thread...I get your point. I was going to reply to @WheatenLover's school story but I'll start another thread.
what exactly is mirror writing ?As part of a welcoming group, I got to shake hands with Pierre Trudeau while he was the Prime Minister . I can mirror write too but not with both hands,I am seriously right handed.
I would never wash those hands! As part of a welcoming group, I got to shake hands with Pierre Trudeau while he was the Prime Minister . I can mirror write too but not with both hands,I am seriously right handed.
I'm very left-handed, and when I was a nipper I went to a nursery school from the age of around 3 till I turned 5. At that time left-handedness was considered the Devil's work, so the staff tried to make me do everything with my right hand, including eating the mid-day meal.At the 2 yr college in Vermont, I attended, one day our house was practicing tag football to play against another house. I didn't see the wire holding up a small tree, I tripped over it dislocated my left thumb{am a lefty}. I had to wear a splint for 6 weeks. I had to wear a plastic sleeve when I took a shower, had friends cut my meat at dinner, eating jello right handed was a challenge. When I used a pen or pencil held it between my fingers on my left hand
So I guess you were an NHS baby like me? All I can say is that without the NHS neither me nor my wife would still be here, but thanks to their intervention we've both survived (so far!)I was born dead... stillborn.. !
I was kidnapped by a total stranger off the streets when I was 2 years old....
You write something that can be read only when you hold it up to a mirror. Just thinking of it bedevils my poor brain.what exactly is mirror writing ?![]()
WOW!! .. I would have passed outI kissed Elvis! Front row seat at his 1974 concert in Milwaukee!
No it didn't occur in Glasgow... and no they never found her. The fact I was so little and yet I remember the woman who picked me up..shows how traumatic it must have been for me, but yet I remember allowing her to pick me up.. but after that I have no recollection whtsoever . I don't have any recollection either of anything she must have said to me...but I can see her to this day in my mind's eye... but not her face.. she was wearing a coat and headscarf, and riding a bike with a big basket on the front...So I guess you were an NHS baby like me? As to the kidnapping, did that happen in Glasgow? And how much later were you returned to your parents? Did the stranger end up in prison for the crime, or were they sectioned?

A bus driver found me on his way back to the depot, ..at midnight lying in the road, .....the police were called... and my parents borught to the station. My mother said I looked like I was well , sitting there drinking milk....
as far as I know the police made little further attempt to find this woman.. ..but it's hard to tell because my family rarely spoken of anything ..everything in my family was a secret...
Now that is impressive!Besides the house, I built a cabin for my mom, and I converted a Greyhound bus.
