What iPhone model do you currently use? How long have you had it?

I think it’s either a 15 or 16. My wife takes care of the phones. Our plan provides free upgrades as they are released. My wife complains because she thinks it’s too heavy. She has an Otterbox case on it and I think that’s what’s causing the weight.

I have a XR Iphone, I've had it about 6 years, I like the features that I use on it, mostly texting and taking and sharing pictures, I'm thinking of upgrading to a larger screen because somethings are hard to see.

I use my iPhone for setting alarms, pics, internet, texts of many,
driving directions, reminders, and alarms for where I want or need
to be during the day and other things. For me, I count on it and would
be challenged to be without it. Of course, I also use it for phone calls.
I have not kept a land phone in 15 years. In my life, an iPhone is an
absolute must.

That’s not released yet.

Go to Settings, General, About. You’ll see the model there.
I have a 13. I looked at the iOS version, which is 16.5.1 I could care less about keeping up with the newest version of phones. I left Verizon and now they keep sending me these terrific deals. I have T-Mobile now and that's where I am staying. I have a lot of stuff in my phone that if I lost it, it would be considered a National Disaster. I have a lot of real information that if some of it got out would make for good reading.

Using the only cell phone I’ve ever had— iPhone 6s. About ready for a new battery as it needs charging every
2 or 3 days depending on usage. I’m sure most of the big brands are every bit as good-I like the compatibility with my other Apple products.

I Iove my iPhone and use it all the time. My current one is the iPhone 14 Pro Max and I'll probably keep it until the 16 comes out (No sign of the 15 yet.) Of course a major draw for me is the camera and the fact that several of the pro photo and video editing programmes I use come with iPhone versions. I've submitted photos for press releases from iPhones going back to the iPhone X without issue, and once sold a framed A3 print from an iPhone 12 shot to a very happy customer.

Yep - Apple Fanboy.
Nope - #notsorry :)

I went from an iPhone10 to an iPhone14 not quite a year ago.
It's not an iPhone Pro nor Pro Max. It's definitely no better than the iPhone10
I think it's worse. But they stopped letting me download upgrades on the iPhone10 due to age.
What a racket (scheme).

I use it much like you use yours, Em. I also use it for searching, weather, and apps for Facetime with my kids, watching Movies, Music, Time, Date, and News.

I have a 12. There are more features than I need, but it's a step up from my 7 and does offer some advantages. I'll stay with it for a while until apple comes up with something I can't do without, or until it breaks.

We are talking to you on this forum and it’s not face to face.
And like using a phone, we get no feedback on facial expressions or body language which is a very large part of face-to-face communications. Therefore, as I must assume you already know, much of the "communications" is lost when using a phone or typing it out...! Communications 101!

Do you use most of the features on your phone or just minimal?
Very minimal. Only calls and texts, and occasionally, the alarm clock.

I don't need nor want all the other stuff. In fact, my phone often notifies me that it's going to put this app or another to "sleep" for lack of use. These are apps I didn't even know the thing had.

I'll keep it for as long as it lives.

88 apps! What apps are your favorites? I just got an iPhone and am looking to download some apps for myself.

I can't say I've really got a favorite. Some at times might get used often then not at all for a while. The App I used the most after first downloading it was 'Star Walk', which I later put on my iPad. I have an App that turns my phone into a Spirit Level, which can come in handy.

I also downloaded an App that showed me how fast I'm moving. The only reason I had it was to show my then 10 year old neice how fast we were going when I took her on a plane for the first time.

I have the iphone 12 mini. Love it. Use it for everything.
  • Love the calendar (no more lost appointment cards - Come out of doc visit, put appt on my calendar. It reminds me when appt is upcoming day before and day of - Genius
  • the camera. (took a free class to take better pics)
  • the tip calculator (so bad at math)
  • Music - radio and Pandora (hook it up to a Bluetooth speaker - beautiful sound, any station i want around the world)
  • Candy Crush game (addicted)
  • Keeping up with Facebook, Twitter (X), Instagram
  • Alarm
  • Mail
  • Weather
  • GPS - no more getting lost
  • Calculator
  • Text messaging (hate when someone calls me now - who is calling me!)
Can't live without it.

Which app is it?

Both my husband and I track our steps per day on the health app. It’s a motivator.

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max that my daughter gave me when she upgraded, and i love it ! It is the largest size and easier for me to see things than the smaller iPhone 11 was that i had before.
I seldom need to make phone calls, and when I get a call, it shows up on my Apple Watch , so I never miss a call unless I am away from both the phone and the watch is on the charger.

I love all of the health apps available and enjoy tracking everything that I can. I also have the “My Directives” app on the phone, so should something happen to me, no one has to hunt for it, it is right on my phone. (It is like a living will, in case you are unconscious or cannot communicate)

I also enjoy taking pictures with my phone and do not even have a camera anymore, and have not had one for years because I can take any pictures I want with the phone.
I did have the plant identifier app, (Picture This) which can identify any kind of plant (even from a picture of one) and give you a lot of information about it. It was around $40 for a year, so I did not renew it this year, but i used it a lot when I had it.

One of my favorite apps is the Find My app, (which used to be called Find My Friends) and I can see where all of my family are at and they can always see where i am at.
I have all of my insurance information on my phone, so in case i need any of that, it is right there handy. There is just a lot of things that I use the phone for.
Apple just came out with the newest model, and I watched the Apple Event video; but I didn’t see anything about the new phone which would be any better than the one I already have.
