R.I.P. With Us In Spirit Only
This edition of WII brings us this very strange tool. It has a very specific use and if you need it, you really need it.

Made of wood and about 70 years old, approx. 4" long.

WHAT IS IT?

I have no clue, but it looks important for whatever purpose it was intended.

It is - if you didn't have one when you needed one you'd probably die.

Is it the thing that you push into the ground to make a hole to plant seedlings or bulbs??

No, but I know exactly what you're thinking of and I have to say they DO look very similar.

Looks like it is threaded, so must screw into something.

Yes it does. ;)

Is it used to plug the hole in a boat??

DING! DING! DING!

We have a winna'!!!

After only 7 replies Jillaroo has correctly identified this item as something that is used to plug a hole in boat.

In this case this is a very specific tool - it was issued with World War II life rafts to plug bullet holes in the raft. They were made in several slightly different styles but all basically looked similar.

Great going, Jillaroo - congratulations and thanks for the few others that got a chance to enter their guesses! ;)

I'll say it again - you folks are just TOO smart!

Ooooh ... I just thought of one for this game that I used to use in my youth - not exactly "antique" but it should certainly qualify as a "What Is It" ...

Bwahahahahahahahahahaha! Coming soon to a thread near you ...
