I hope none of you are faint of heart this morning, because today's WII has been known to startle people upon first glimpsing it ...

... and another view ...

Made of wood, brass and a few unidentifiable bits and pieces, probably originates from mid-19[SUP]th[/SUP]-century Netherlands.

WHAT IS IT?

LOL! You folks never cease to make me laugh - thank you all!

But just as in every evolutionary race there has to be one survivor, in What Is It? there has to be ... one winner!

DING! DING! DING!

We have a winna!

Diwundrin correctly identified this beastly-looking device as a teaching and study aid that mimics the movements of the human eye.

Called an opthalmotrope, the model was powered by weights via the strings attached to the eyes to simulate the muscle movements. The first ophthalmotrope was made by Christian Georg Theodor Ruete in 1845 and it was he who gave it the name “ophthalmotrope”.

Congrats Diwundrin on your big win, and thank you everyone for playing!

Yea!! So what is it this time? A cheque, a week in Hawaii or a NEEOOooooow Caaaarrrrrr!

Pinged a guess from where the strings were attached.
They don't call me Sherlock for nuthin' ya know. (see Brain Analysis thread)

Pfffft

Nice job on the fine print Phil. :applause2: I'm disqualified on sooooo many levels.

Disappointed about the Honey Badger, they make such cuddlesome pets I hear, but I doubt Customs would even let the Sydney Zoo import one into the country.

The choccy would be nice but hey, only10 kilos a week would hardly make a difference.

But... thanks anyway.
