WHAT IS IT?

First thing that comes to mind is hair implement - maybe something the old ladies used to twist a bun in their noggin?

I think you might have it Old Hipster my first thought was a Q tip for rich people.

I have a few other possibilities but since therapy was suggested I'll not bring them up.

An ear wax spoon, it was used to dig ear wax out of ears.

Is it a bone marrow spoon?

Used for honey? Twirl it to pick the honey up then drip it onto the toast? Saw something similar in a Gran's home as a kid but it was a wooden one.

Not made for old ladies for teasing their hair,
Nor scooping the marrow from bones 'til they're bare.
'Twas not used for honey, though I guess you could,
And as an ear wax spoon I'm sure it's no good -
The size of the thing would not fit your canal!
And Sid - oh, Grasshopper - your comment's banal!

:playful:

Ok how about a fancy nose picker, the holes are bigger.

:aargh: ^^^

Does it unscrew in the middle? The pattern changes there.

Is it a pencil case attached at one end to a little note pad to use to mark dance cards?

It reminds me of those handles to put through plastic grocery bags to carry a bunch of them, but platic was scarce in Victorian times so guess it's not for that.

I'll have to sleep on it. Night all.

No, it doesn't unscrew, at least as far as I know. It isn't a pencil case and it's not for restoring circulation in your hands. :D

I'll have to sleep on it.

... no, I can't say it, that's TOO easy a set-up ... :playful:

Coke spoon? :playful:

LOL - I like how you think! Unfortunately, no.

A cuticle pusher??

ETA: Ivanchuk, you just might have it - looked at ours, and it's very similar. :p

It looks like a pick that comes along with a nut cracker to dig the nuts out of a walnut for example.

Hi Anne.
It does look like one. *fingers crossed*:)

You'll get the prize money, then. :D

Not a pick for a nut
Nor a pusher of skin
To use it as either
Would be such a sin!

I know the photograph doesn't show it, but the ends of this item are fully-rounded - there are no sharp points or flat planes on them.

Guesses are rationed??? !

To Hell with that, so sue me.... but I smell a clue.

Is it a 'blessing stick?' .... sorry I don't frequent Churches so that thing they flick holy water around with to bless the congregation?
