What is something that you could never learn to do?

Cooking is easy, it's just about confidence.
I used to think I couldn't make pastry but I persevered and now I do it effortlessly.
Other my top is cook simple dishes well.

I have followed recipes to the “t” and the food comes out tasting nothing like it should.

Easy, don't have unrealistic expectations. No matter what you do, you're not going to be a Michelin chef. As long as what comes out is edible, it's good. Actually, cooking is more fun when you experiment with things you like, rather than following recipes.

Before I left home, the only cooking I could do was to fry hamburger, broil Spam, and make a very simple salad. My mother thought males' ability was mainly to mess up a kitchen... so keep them out of it. But, on my own, I did lean more over the years.

But I've always thought I might be able to learn to use a sewing machine for the simplest repairs. Watching people who use one, it appears that it's not that different from how you use a bandsaw, which I learned to do in my teens. But no one's ever shown me how to use a sewing machine. So I have no idea if I could do it, even at a very basic level.

I think it depends.
Social media isn't private or for criminals only. Social media is available to anyone and everyone.
However, most social sites have privacy safeguards for private messaging and maybe other features intended for private use.
I don't think law enforcement should be able to monitor social media private features without a warrant. That is like a consentless search.
Or like phone taps without warrants.

With me it was playing a piano. I can play wind instruments, but there you only have to concentrate on playing one note at a time. On a piano, there's 10 fingers each doing something different at once and all those notes on the sheet music!

There is playing piano and there is “playing” with piano. I self-taught myself to play by ear a few years back in 2020. Chords on the left hand and melody on the right. Start with a single chord on the first note of each measure on a very simple song in the key of C (all white keys) or the key of G (one black key). Then slowly work on the left hand to play a progression of the keys in the chord. At this point I can play many different songs by ear. I don’t read music, but I know it would be a lot easier to give that a try now. I don’t think I could ever play what you have posted, but who knows.

At any rate, I enjoy playing. I think if I had gone about it the honest traditional way, I would have lost interest.
