What is something you really resent paying for?

I think parking is a great example of an item most dislike but that is often because they gouge the customer.
I resent most items that people try to make look low then nickle and dime others with add on fees/ taxes / assessments.

Resort fees would be an example i can not tell you how many people are like i got a super deal and i ask what are the resort fees they do not believe me til they read the fine print.

Well, I do have a follow-up next month with the nurse practicioner who prescribed it and I'll for sure let her know it didn't work. Not her fault; it's a fairly new drug and I guess so far it's worked for about 95 percent who've used it; leave it to me to be in that darn 5 percent...story of my life, sigh.
I'm so sorry that happened to you Officer!! I hope they find what works and at a much lower price!

My Grandfather would say " I can't see why people would pay good money to get scared." In reference to going to a movie theater to watch a scary movie. You know something I agree with him. When I was in the Navy me and a friend were drunk and went to see "The Exorcist" when it was the new movie to watch. The movie scared us so much that when the movie was over we were sober so we had to go out and get drunk all over again.

15 years ago, I could stop by a dentist's office and say, "hey Doc, I have a decay. Can you fill it right now?"
"Sure, Jump in the chair!"
He drilled out the decay. He filled it. Done. "$50.00"
Now, You have to make an appt for a full mouth x-rays, a second appt for a comprehensive exam.
If you have no insurance, they will sell you their insurance plan.
You must get a cleaning before the dentist will look at your teeth.
By the time he actually even LOOKS at the decay, you are looking at a few thousand dollars!
Yes, I guess I do resent the way they implement extraneous charges!

Resort fees at a hotel. I don’t need the newspaper, bottle of water, free local calls, etc. Resorts fee are just a way to hide what they’re really charging so you can’t do a fair comparison when reviewing different hotels.
I've actually read that they are illegal but nobody takes them to court for it. Not sure if that's true or not. This was regarding Vegas hotels as I remember. But yes, they're ridiculous. Went to vegas in November and they wanted resort fees which included the pool, only the pool is closed in November.

What is something you really resent paying for?
I resent paying more tax as an individual when billionaires end up paying little or no tax, but reap the benefits regardless. Likewise, I resent religious organizations that violate the IRS rules that forbids their involvement in political activities, paying no tax on billions or income, yet reaping society's benefits.

I hate that my garbage collection, water/sewer bill includes an additional charge for "storm water runoff." WTH
What is storm water run off?
Is that a way of recovering the cost of storm water run off infrastructure.
The council who have implemented this charge are taking the piss out of their electors.
I hope all those councillors were voted out at the next election.

I had a look at this charge.

The storm water utility fee charge is the amount paid by a property owner for the storm water runoff that the parcel imposes on the City drainage system and the storm water management program.

In order to fully address unfunded federal and state mandates, the City of ........... adopted a storm water utility fee in May of 2010. The fee will provide reliable and stable resources to adequately fund the City’s mandated storm water management program and help fund drainage improvement projects that will help to alleviate flooding problems and protect streams from erosion and sedimentation.

Residential properties are assessed based on the home footprint of the property. Properties with 1640 square feet or less will be billed $30 annually; properties over 1640 square feet will be billed $42. Residents will receive this bill via their annual tax notice with the charge listed in the “fees” line on the notice.

Freaking overpriced doctors bills and prescriptions. Also exuberant electric and sewer bills. I guess I just hate paying bills in general.
The bills never go down. Every year the set bills rise. So many people are unable to pay for the ever increasing bills and end up homeless.
Local Governments care little. Their mantra - Give us your money.

Australia has free to air TV
Sure, only 25 channels, with some of them nothing but repeats, but we have always had free to air.
Has the UK/US had paid TV service since it's inception?
We have over the air broadcast TV. I get 26 channels which includes the major networks. There are lots of old sitcoms. It's enough for me and it's free.

I resent paying a huge premium for prescription medication in the USA while people in other countries pay a fraction of what we pay for same medication. That is so wrong.
I would resent it if I paid it.
Instead of $800-1800.00 per month for drugs/medicine/rx,
I spend about $80.00 every month or two for supplements that work better. I don't even take a nsaid/motrin nor tylenol ever. Some people find out on their own. Others see a natural health provider for information, or do both - read up and see experienced providers , it is very very well worth it.

Actually, I am upset, not resentful, but upset and angry daily at the unjust, immoral cost everyone paying taxes has to pay for or towards the druglords making the medicine.
