I do have vague memories of gas stations giving away glasses and such if you did get your tank filled up.When I started driving, in the late 1950's, gas prices were usually in the 25 to 30 cents/gal range....depending upon if there were an "gas wars" going on.....remember 'gas wars'??? Then, in my senior year in HS, I worked at a gas station and the owner charged us his "wholesale cost"....about 17cents/gal.

And why isn't here a cents sign on my keyboard. They have a row of "F" numbers that I never use , so why can't they ad a lousy cents sign. If I ruled the world...............

I remember no gas stations because cars weren't invented yet, so everyone rode horses.
