What is the world's worst song ever?

That is an abomination, and I apologize, but you wanted the worst. Many years ago we had a clock radio set to wake us and being in a new state we didn't know the radio stations and that abomination woke us every morning. I hated it the first time I heard it and every morning thereafter.

Anything by ABBA, but this one tops my list.
The Disco era was a complete waste of time and effort.

While I am not a fan, I do love the vocals ABBA had. Nothing better than rich, full harmonies.

At the height of the genre's popularity, I was right there with you on the front lines during the war on disco. I'm a classic rocker, tried and true.

However, my stance has softened in the (wow) 45 years since it's heyday. I've come to appreciate enough of it that I even have a disco folder in my music library.

Anyway, getting back on topic, as far as the worst song of all time? I couldn't wait for 'We Built This City' by Starship to go away.

Hey Jude
goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on
Agreed, @AnneTeak! I actually love the first half but can definitely go without the endless "na na na"s and the screaming.

To make it worse, when I was in eighth grade we sang this for All-County Chorus. We practiced all Friday night and all day Saturday for a Sunday performance. I didn't listen to this song for literally decades afterward. And I'm a huge Beatles fan.

This song makes me feel ill whenever I hear it... I hate it so much.
In the 70s when it was in the charts it was never of the radio playlists.. drove me nuts...

I know you were involved in the music industry, so that's the only reason I'm posting a bit of trivia. I can see why you hate anything that has been played over and over (so do I), but this song was groundbreaking because up to that point disco songs were always recorded with live drums and instruments (think KC and the Sunshine Band). Giorgio Moroder from Germany, who produced this song, used the first electronics and synthesizers in the disco era, which explains the futuristic sound of this song. There have been so many spin-off dance tunes with this background I can't even count them.

I know all this stuff no one cares about because I was an amateur DJ in my younger years. You are still entitled to hate it! :ROFLMAO:
