What is your favorite brand of TV dinner; and your favorite TV dinner meal

I like a few of the Stouffer's Classic red box entrees. The meatloaf, chicken parm, fish filet, turkey, etc...

I also think the Hungry Man Classic Fried Chicken is a good value. I usually have the sides and one piece of chicken then save the larger meatier piece of chicken for a second meal. Plus who doesn't love chocolate brownies studded with pieces of corn?:)

If times get tough I would consider using home delivery of frozen meals for the mainstay of my diet as an alternative to meals on wheels.

I find the TV dinners are very similar to the meals at the senior center. I liked the senior center for the company and I liked most of the meals. The carton of milk I could bring home for my cream of wheat for breakfast. Senior centers aren’t open yet.

I don’t get meals on wheels so know nothing about them. They were more expensive than the senior center which was 3 dollars or nothing if you didn’t have the 3 dollars.

I rarely cook. Some days can’t even stand long enough to make the cream of wheat-takes 5 minutes. The TV dinners let you control portions, calories, and ready in a few minutes so I’m sticking with them for a while.

And brownies with corn, yummy. 😄

Healthy Choice......Garden vegetables......Chicken, vegetable stir fry.
Swanson......Fried chicken dinner.

Sad to say our TV dinners are home made.
Slice of toast folded over slice of cheese is about as good as it gets here.
Nothing sad about controlling the content of what you eat. Way back when we were working a prepared meal [TV dinner ] was helpful. Been more than 25 years now so have no clue what is available now. Kinda like fmdog44 having freezer full of food works for us. Difference is we don't prep ahead of time.

BTW you must live somewhere near New Brighton Pa.

No matter what the frozen meal is, I find that I can improve it a bit. I add some butter to the veggies and sometimes I add a little Yum Yum* sauce to the meat. Add a side of apple sauce or a salad. I keep some rolls in the freezer, take one out to thaw, and heat one up while the meal is in the microwave. Since I don't eat enough salad to use up a bottle of ranch dressing before it expires, I keep a pack of dipping ranch cups on hand. Have you ever tried adding a little melted butter to a salad? Pretty good. I've also added a little shredded mozzarella cheese to a few dinners.
As far a brands go, I like one or two from each brand and try to find one I've never had before to test out. I just bought 2 P.F. Chang dinners to try.

*Terry Ho's Yum Yum sauce in the Asian food section at Meijer. Careful though, don't get the hot version unless that's what you like.

One of the funny moments in the movie Bullitt (Steve McQueen) is when he walks in to the corner store and goes to the freezer and like a robot stacks six tv dinners. It was an obvious hint that 1.) he should find a woman and 2.) dying by tv dinners is not as bloody as getting shot in the line of duty.634 x 338 jpg.jpg

I was going to say Hormel chicken and gravy but I'm not sure it will qualify as a frozen meal. it's found in the meat section and it is continually discontinued! Not terribly fond of frozen meals.

I want to see a photo of your freezer packed with food you have prepared. lol

Here you go. :) Our smaller freezer has pre-cooked meals with meat. The larger chest freezer has things like frozen spaghetti, potato, kung-pau mixed with beef, bean burrito mix, and assorted other mixed meals. I can't get a picture right now, because the whole top area is covered with tomato's that we will be canning, and bags of frozen tomato squeezing's that will also be canned.

In the last few years neither me or my husband have large
Appetites, so I always have some tv dinners in the freezer. I like lean cuisine the best.

That's how it is with me. Sometimes I can't even finish all of the frozen dinner and save what's left for a snack or to add to something else. I do like to embelish on the dinner by adding a side dish of some sort, though.
