What is your pet peeve or what are some of them?

And another thing... What's the deal with all these young and talented musicians and singers who just do song covers -- mainly of classic rock tunes? Why don't they do originals? Or maybe they do originals but they're just not very good, so those songs don't show up in my YouTube feed.

Another of my pet peeves is Comcast/Xfinity. They suck and they're too expensive, so they're going by the wayside! I'm having Quantum Fiber installed this afternoon. Ha!

On the news channel, the continuing use of the term "Breaking News." According to them, every bit of news they broadcast is special, exciting, and "breaking!" Of course, this breaking news is always promoted as the next thing coming up after a "short break" (Short? Hah!) and it could be anything at all.

The guy from Quantum Fiber just showed up in his personal truck with nothing indicating it's an actual Quantum Fiber truck, and he speaks with a heavy accent. He looks like he knows what he's doing, though. It doesn't inspire confidence in their service, though. Meh, maybe it will be okay.

Yep, BREAKING NEWS! It's raining 1,000 miles away!

Since its once again April income tax time, this retired person hates having to pay taxes on Social Security income that amounts to unfair double taxation. For the sake of lame politicians that began taxing us so but ought be ended.
I have to use "shades of gray" or Grayscale because of vision problems. Dear David777, your posts don't show up! Is it because you're using a different colored ink? Maybe it's my tablet but i miss what you have to say! Lol. Okay, back to all the peeves. ;)

People who don't do what they say they're going to do. Y'know....."Oh, yes, I'll be there! I can't wait to come!" and in their minds they're saying "That is, unless I find something better to do or I decide I'd rather stay home or.....and then I'll not call and just not show up or cancel at the very last minute with a flimsy excuse, leaving you knowing that you've been 'shopped' and found wanting."

I do have a few but these two are the most annoying to me:

The crawler/ticker on the bottom of the tv screen. News channels, weather updates, sports, etc. Very distracting.

People who mumble. My hearing is fine!

Starting a conversation with So.....blah, blah.

I 'relayed' this info over to him in a different thread, in case he doesn't see your post here.

I really don’t like old age jokes that use tropes. For example - You know you’re getting old when your favorite cocktail is prune juice with a splash of Pepto Bismol.

I didn’t think I had any pet peeves until I went to the Feed store today and I was reminded of something that has been tissing me off for 23 years.

I have even written to Tractor supply’s corporate office, but it didn’t do any good.

Today was a perfect example. The store knows me and it is amazing how the men in that store can find something else to do when I walk through the door and sometimes need help getting 50 pound bags of feed off the shelves and always need help getting product loaded in my car. I never leave that store without 150 to 200 pounds of horse feet sometimes a 38 pound bag of birdseed and a 38 pound bag of dog food is added to that.

The men disappear and the store manager who is a ****head is the worst of the lot.

So who has to help me load? Always the women and most of those women are tiny little things that are gonna tear their insides out by the time they’re done working at tractor supply.

it is absolutely infuriating that the men won’t step up and say to the girls “finish for me and I will help her load her car”. Nope, they would rather use their little scanner to do a job that the most exercise they’re getting is when their finger hits the clicker thing on the scanner.

It’s the same at both tractor supply stores within my driving area.

I'm bothered when people make comments and with a broad brush say ALL of whatever demographic their speaking of. ALL democrats/republicans/white/black/rich/
poor/atheists/christians....whatever. It's rarely all, say many or the majority or those I know, or a precentage, but not all unless you have statistics to back that up.

Any time I read or hear someone say ALL them they instantly lose credibility in my opinion.
I don't even go with statistics because they can be so skewed.

But yes, I do not like generalization about ANY group. There is just no such thing as "all are like this" or "all or like that". I think for myself and am sure others do as well, and I could just have assumptions made which would be so far from true...

It loses my interest as well when anyone does that... All rich, all poor, all US people, all whites, all MX people, etc. I find it---well I won't say. It's just not well informed when someone does that...

Do you have a Menard's? Not sure if you can get horse feed there but you sure can get bird seed and dog food and if they are like here, the guys are very good about helping and loading into one's vehicle. They are not throughout the US but they do keep adding stores and getting outside of the region they started in...

I don't think they have horse feed though. You might be able to order it in however.

Anyhow even for others, I recommend them for pets. They have a lot of variety of pet foods and a good selection of other things as well. They load vehicles, you can pull up. You can order to the store and pickup. They are more of a home/construction place but they have a store that even has a good sampling of groceries.

One of my biggest pet peeves, are people who don't spay and neuter their pets and then let them run loose unsupervised. It's just heart wrenching to think about all of the animals that are euthanized every year because of lazy, heartless people who just don't seem to care. I don't buy that they can't afford to have them fixed. They are too many low cost clinics out there (a lot of them around $25), that it's no excuse. If they can't afford $25, then I don't see how they can afford the upkeep of a pet.

I so agree. If you can feed your family and afford to feed a pet too, then you can afford to get them fixed. RIght?

@AutumnGal , according to their locater, Menards is not anywhere in Tennessee, but thank you🤠

The TSC in my county has the best offering of horse feed, and bagged forage if I need it.

I have had two horses with metabolic issues. One I nearly lost, so I am anal about what I feed. I buy Triple Crown horse feed, which has a fixed formula.

I order enough stuff for these horses on line. Ordering 500# of horse feed monthly is cost prohibitive, not to mention the delivery issue.

And I can tell stories of people with no horse experience take on free horses because it’s free— there is no such thing as free and most of these people don’t have a pot to pee in, and think a dog kennel is fine for a horse.

I have done my share of horse, dog, and cat rescue# in my life; many of which are in my Pet Sematary. I was naive enough to think lack of spay/neuter would not be an issue by now, nor did I think every moron watching Sky King, Fury and Hildalgo would really think they could support a horse in their city lot.

Yep I guess that’s pet peeve number 1 and the lazy men at TSC become #2 on my list🔥

they show up to me.....

You reminded me of another one with this post. It isn't necessarily a pet peeve of mine or bad thing even but someone says somehting and then they say "if that makes sense?". In other words "do you understand what i mean" and it softens whatever they just said OR encourages the listener to agree they understand...

I don't necessarily think that one is all bad, it's a way of being tactful and getting along but it became very common a few years back and it does put the weight on the listener...

I do that sometimes - generally when I'm not sure if I have explained something very well.

I thought any job a man can do, a woman can do just as well if not better. My poor male brain is confused.

Yes. You. Certainly. Are. Confused. Mayhaps you might re—read what I wrote.

The initial issue was NOT about the women lifting, it was/is about then men doing a disappearing act to get out of helping a customer with heavy load. Whether that’s helping get 50# bags of feed off a shelf, or helping the customer load them in the vehicle.

But. As you say “ your poor MALE brain” indeed………

As a kid my friend had a female dog and when she was in heat and we had to walk her, we had to run and hide to get rid of the interested male dogs.
