What is your usual morning routine?

What might we find you doing as part of your usual morning routine?

Go potty; put on my robe; get a mug of coffee, flick my mouse to open the PC; check any E-mail (There are @ least 6 or 8 there), Then get on this forum and see what's new and/or exciting. Usually it's Gael and/or Seebreeze who have opened up interesting topics to get things rolling, and I sometimes hop on those.
Afterwhile, wander into the kitchen and make some kind of breakfast and read the morning newspaper.

I get up at about 7.30am, have my shower, dress, have my vitamin supplements and two glasses of water, feed the fish and then go out for my first walk of the day, which lasts about 25 minutes. I come home and switch my computer on, check my e-mails look in on forums etc. At 9.30am I have my breakfast (nuts, dates an apple and a cup of instant coffee) in front of the TV. This takes about 10/15 minutes. I then go for my second walk of the day, which lasts about 20 minutes. When I come home I usually have a second cup of coffee, and have a chat with my husband for a few minutes. I do any chores that require my attention, then shut myself away in my room with my computer until lunchtime. The only changes to that routine are if I have to go out somewhere in the morning, which I would try to do after my second walk of the day.

Sounds like a routine that effectively gets you up and going there!

Mine is immediately take meds and a mug of water, then make the bed and water plants if need be and take out the trash if need be.

Then I get online, check my emails first, then set up my own site for the day, then get in here and start posting away. Then it's breakfast and my exercises. That starts the day for whatever lies ahead.

Being a creature of routine I get irritated if it is upset in anyway. I am always relieved when Christmas is over as that disturbs it a bit.

I've always been a routine person myself too. My mother and brother was and I followed suit. Routine is part of making me feel secure and in control. You woudn't have those needs necessarily, they're just part of my nature.

When I no longer have a routine I feel disoriented. I don't like surprises and I don't like change in general. Ironic as my whole life has been characterized by sudden and drastic changes.

I get up, start the coffee machine going, check to see how heavily it's raining and then go back to bed.
Gael, my only routine is that I never know what I'm going to be doing from day to day. Then every so often I feel the need for a complete change - like moving from one end of the country to the other.

People whose lives have been full of sudden and drastic changes are exactly the ones who don`t like change or surprises,I have found. My foster daughters and my DIL are perfect examples of that. Their childhoods have been full of change and surprise, so now you can`t even get them a birthday gift without them wanting to tell you what it is-or not being able to stand not telling you what is in the package they have wrapped for you.

I can relate!!:dito:

Usually up at 4:30 am, 30 minutes before the alarm sounds. I either read or get up and exercise, depending on which part of the body has the greatest need. (Ugh, both) Get the body sufficiently decorated for the work environment, and commence preparation of two farm fresh eggs and half a grapefruit for breakfast. Scarf those down, feed the dogs, and hop in my vehicular device and head to work.

I like that unique descripton, "get the body decorated for the work envirnoment"!

My morning routine is all over the place now that I'm working from home. Some days I get up early to be showered before work others I get up and just get dressed before work. Since I work from home and don't have to appear on any video meeting it doesn't matter what I'm wearing or how I look.

When I'm working in the office I get up and get in the shower sometime between 5:05 and 5:30 depending on if I have early meetings or not. After that I take the dogs for about a mile walk, get them fed after the walk, check email if I have time then drive to the office and start the day. I prepare my breakfast and pack a lunch and take those to work to eat.

@Gael I do it too. I basically quit starting threads.

My morning routine...get up...stumble to the keurig & start a cup of coffee...go peek out the front door at the weather...go tinkle...grab my coffee...take a swig or 3 before starting my breathing treatment....hop online for an hr and then get ready for work.

I also forgot to add that sometimes as I'm walking into the bathroom, I will catch a glimpse of my bed head and take a fit laughing.

My day can start anytime after 2 am, and sometimes earlier, whatever time my body wakes up with pain... when I get up, I let Carl out, and we usually have our morning pee together, and then sometimes Ginger escapes... I then make a coffee with the Keurig and set Lorie's cup after I make my coffee... Turn the switch for the internet on the computer, check my mail, and then head to SF... While on SF, I have another coffee or two, and then make my breakfast, finish up here... Then we usually take Carl for a walk before beginning something on the property... or house

What is your usual morning routine?

Wake...whenever...usually 4a
Git up
Scratch my hind end
Throw some wood on the fire
Step out to mark my territory
Crank on the genny to make coffee
Watch the sun rise while sipping that first cup
Git on SF and other forums/sites
Git sleepy
Trudge back to bed
Drift off to sweet sweet slumber
Then....wake whenever.....usually 10ish
