What Makes You Feel Happy or Sad?

Going for a walk amongst lovely scenery with my Wife on a lovely Sunny day makes me happy.
If it pours down while I am in the middle of doing that makes me miserable.
So what makes you feel either happy, sad or miserable then?

Please tell us as many as you want to.

I love to give nice presents.. If I know someone truly desires something I love buying it for them... especially the Grandkids.. The look on their faces when they open the gift and the squeals of joy make me incredibly happy. What makes me miserable is if I miss the mark and the present is tossed aside.

Thank you for helping the thread get off to a good start Quicksilver.
And I will empathise with those emotions for the reasons given.

I'm happy when I've get up in the morning feeling well and full of energy, I'm happy when my family are happy, I'm miserable when I see one of my children/grandchildren making wrong moves or mistakes.

Waterfalls, streams, mountains = happy, really happy. Looking out the window and seeing nothing but the side of my neighbor's house = sad.

Yes jujube, all of the things there that make you happy, make me happy to.

Living here in North Wales we are lucky enough to be able to see a lot of that.
And I can sympathise with you in respect of the side of your neighbours house making you sad.

I like you more every post, QS. You know what's good in life. When ours got into Yugioh, and computer games, my wife became the worlds leading expert on them. Used to know more than the game store manager. Even learned how to order in Japanese currency.

I'm happy when things turn out and are going well -- this covers a lot of territory --- And of course, I'm not so happy and sad when I hear bad news or things get messed up in some way.

The same thing can make me happy and sad at the same time. Tonight I watched a show about a couple who had been married for over 60 years and the wife has terminal cancer. She had always been the homemaker doing all the cooking, housework etc. He has really stepped up to the plate and has learnt how to cook and looks after her like a princess. She is more worried about him doing all the work than she is about her illness. It made me cry because I was happy to see their devotion to each other and sad it was coming to an end.

I feel happy when my loved ones are happy, when I get to play with dogs, when my plants are thriving, when I am cooking.

I feel unhappy when I don't get enough sleep or when loved ones are at some kind of risk.

You are obviously a very sensitive human being mitchezz for saying all of that, and I too have felt happy and sad just reading it.

My happy and sad today is nothing like that, but I have just got to mention it.

Tonight at 8.00PM UK time (now 19.30PM) my soccer team EVERTON play West Brom.
If they win I shall be happy.:)
If they draw I won't feel too bad.
But if we lose then I will feel sad.:(

I feel sad when I see my kids or grand kids doing something that is unwise, even though I know that is how they learn.

What makes me happy is sitting under the awning (porch) or a carport and watching it rain. I could do that for hours on end. We are in a drought now, so I hope it rains soon. Another thing that makes me happy is how excited our dogs get when we come home. In fact one of them, Seth, actually cries with joy sometimes when he sees my husband has come home. :)

There is a nearby nature reserve and I feel so peaceful hiking there. In fact someday I wish to be cremated and scattered through the woods, dog park too. Third guessing myself makes me miserable.

I am happy when I'm out in nature taking in a breathtaking scene, camera in hand, making beautiful images. I am sad when my battery runs out or my flash card is full before I'm done exploring.
I'm happy when I make a new recipe that comes out just right. I'm unhappy when I get stuck in traffic, especially when pressed for time. I'm happy when my back doesn't hurt so much and I don't feel quite so stiff in the morning.
