For me, one of them was Chariots of Fire.
A movie about running? In slow motion?
Unbelievable

What I remember about the movie was a contest between 2 runners. It might have been about what you describe. At the time, it went over my head. But Chariots of Fire wasn't about running. It was about class division and religious prejudice in the late 1920s, a significant time period between world wars I and II.
I was disappointed with The Godfather III.
Yes, they were competitors, but not only athletically. The race was a parable for the social situation. What I remember about the movie was a contest between 2 runners. It might have been about what you describe. At the time, it went over my head.

good pic buddy!I just glanced at the Oscar winners for the past 40 years or so and the one that jumps out to me is Out of Africa. Totally Ho Hum for me.
Same. Hollywood movies are now produced by and produced for folks with low IQ’s. (In my opinion) I may go see Mad Max because The Road Warrior is one of my favorite movies. The last movie in the series was ok. Beyond Thunderdome was the biggest PoS ever created! Most of them.
But then, I haven't been to the movies in years.
One of my faves, Aunt Mavis!Yentl. The biggest PoS ever produced!
There's nothing real about it. The earth isn't going to become so uninhabitable that we have to find a new planet and there are no other inhabitable planets to go to.Interstellar. 3 hrs of mind-numbing boredom
