Alto saxophonist Lou Donaldson (still kicking at 98 years old, though retired) made this tune "Blues Walk" a kind of a theme. I saw him in West Berlin in the mid-80s). Well done by the Lincoln Center Orchestra, led by Wynton Marsalis.

Nobody swings like the Count. I've played most of these charts on this album, but not nearly as well as these guys. Hayburner is especially delicious.

There's a documentary on Prime Video about Chicago Blues and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. I started watching it last night. It's pretty good!

The only pianist I've ever heard that burned up the keyboard like Oscar Peterson was Art Tatum. Neils-Henning Orsted Pederson on bass; Barney Kessel on guitar.
