What occupation couldn't they pay you enough to do?

There’s a person around here whose job it is to clean up road killed animals that aren’t scavenged. They come in a truck, and get paid per animal collected. I wouldn’t want that job for love or money…

Well, decades ago after already having a successful hardware electronics engineering support career, began to go to school for psychology courses. Wasn't long before I realized that I didn't have patience dealing with those with addictions that won't listen to advice or those that have filled their minds with nonsense leaving them hopelessly illogical warped, one cannot make sense to.

I could never be a hospice nurse. I saw what they went through when my mother was passing away. They are incredible people, but I could never live up to that.
I think I could, for money. I was an aide on a handicapped school bus, with severely handicapped children. I did my job with care, but didn't let it get to me. One day the regular driver was absent. The relief driver said he wouldn't be able to do it every day, because he'd "feel so sorry" for the kids.

But it wouldn't be my first choice. That kind of work doesn't give me joy, as it does my sister. She loved looking after people.

I can understand that dealing with mentally ill people is not for everyone, but mental illness it is not a choice. 😊

One-on-one juvenile psychiatric care aid. I covered once for a dietitian on an extended break and the chart room was next to the padded room. It was heartbreaking to hear kids in PTSD flashbacks begging, screaming for the aid in the room with them not to do the things that had been done to them.

Respiratory therapist. Have been in the room when they were suctioning mucus and it is an automatic gag reflex for me ...bolt for the door bad every time. Can handle blood, guts but not mucus!
