What places would you like to visit before you shuffle off this mortal coil?

I have lived in a number of countries and have visited quite a few but I have always had the desire to visit New Zealand and I've never made it that far. I would also like to spend some time in Japan, I've made fleeting visits on a couple of occasions but would like to spend a whole month there. Unfortunately not only does my health pose a bit of a problem but I also have to win the lottery to finance these trips.

My wife comes from New Zealand and we have grandchildren there..
Our son lives there.. He is a cameraman for movies.. He made "The Lord of the Rings" for Peter Jackson and is presently working on a movie "Spartacus"........

The only thing I can tell you is, it is an expensive place to live........
Extremely lovely country especially the south island..

My cousin lived there for awhile and also spoke of how expensive it was. Japan is also expensive - I think we're quite lucky to live in Canada. I lived in the Philippines for a couple of years and it is very cheap to live there - lots of retired Americans, Canadians, British and Germans.

I think I am past the time of traveling to another country, and it would be one of those lottery-financed things for me also. With all the wars and problems seemingly about anywhere nowadays , I am not sure I would even feel safe going overseas, anyway.
I think that what I would like to do, assuming I could do that, is to go on a Bahamas cruise. I am thinking it would definitely not be on the Carnival Cruise Lines, given all the bad reports of things happening on that line. As far as I can tell, Disney has a pristine record, and that would be my choice to go on the cruise.

High Island in Texas, Point Pelee in Canada, during bird migration. Iceland for Aurora photography. New Zealand, and Japan, but need that lottery win, so just pipedreams.

... As far as I can tell, Disney has a pristine record, and that would be my choice to go on the cruise.

Unfortunately there is no such thing as a totally pristine record for ANY cruise company.

-Disney lost a crew-member on March 22, 2011 off the coast of Mexico. No one knows what happened to her.

-A four-year-old boy had to be air-lifted from the ship after a near-fatal pool accident.

Those two incidents aside, Disney DOES seem to be the safest line in the industry, so enjoy your cruise after you win that lottery! :D

As for where I would like to visit before I kick the bucket, it's a toss-up between seeing the Taoist temples in the mountains of China and visiting the mountains of Sofia Vergara in Hollywood. :playful:

Always wished to visit Ireland and do a horse trip around the countryside on one of their great Irish hunter horses....if I ever get there now, I won't be seeing the countryside from the back of a horse.

We have seen the Pyramids in Egypt (A once in a lifetime experience)

The Terracotta Warriors and The Great Wall in China. ( The rulers during that time period were very powerful)

The ruins of Chichen Itza in Mexico. ( Not as good as the Pyramids)

The Stone Circle at Stonehenge in Ireland (They are finally getting their act together and making it more accessible to tourists)

We hope to be able to visit the ancient city of Machu Picchu in Peru which is one of the world’s best known archaeological sites.

We still have to visit America,Australia and New Zealand.

My son, who works at NSA, has been all over the world. Of all the places he has visited, he liked New Zealand the best, even though he talks about retiring in Hawaii.

I have only been to Canada in my travels. The army kept me stateside at Camp Roberts, CA. I would like to take that train excursion that runs through Canada. It looks like a beautiful trip.

Our kids sent my wife and I on a 3 day cruise for our 50th anniversary. I enjoyed it, but I like both feet on Terra Firma.

There are so many places I'd like to see, both in the US and out.

I'd like to start with Saint Martins Parish, Birmingham, England where my ancestors came from.
