When I was a kid which seems like 100 years ago one of our friends grandmother lived with them and she would make matzah ball soap from scratch and the chicken broth from scratch to this day I remember how rich and delicious that soup was .It takes minutes to put a pot of stock on the stove. Freeze it in portions.

That's funny.OMG, as I read this I automatically stopped reading with "it's" and thought "... a girdle".
Wasn't there such a Playtex ad "I can't believe it's a girdle" several decades ago.
As I was a boy, at first I wondered why my mother needed quite some time getting ready for formal events. As I noticed this thing in the bathroom I knew the reason
To be serious: I don't remember one single product my wife and me had to cut. We were always living frugally, hence nothing to cut. But we don't miss something.
I wrestle with things like that and am more likely to spend money on others than on myself.I haven't stopped buying any of my week to week purchases due to price increases, though I do notice the increases.
What I am struggling with right now is a new car. The last few years I have been telling myself my next car will be a luxury SUV, but I sure am hesitating. The pragmatic side of me is not letting me pull the trigger, though I want it, I earned it, feel I deserve it, but that just isn't good enough to justify excessive and unnecessary spending.
Also my hesitation is over more than just today's cost of that luxury SUV, it's the thought of tying up money that could be better used cushioning the impact of steadily rising cost of my daily life.

Norwich…almost a transplanted native. Been here 26 years now.Ahhh one of the most disliked people in Florida the NY transplant which I am also , I'm from Albany .
Do you have a Lidl's, Aldi's or Amazon Fresh near you? I'm in northern N.J. and all those stores are fairly close. I'm told that all those stores have eggs for under $4 a dozen. In fact, last week I was surprised that my son was able to get a dozen organic, cage free eggs for me for $3.21 from Amazon Fresh, which I would have thought would be more expensive.EGGS! yesterday, XL (maybe jumbos?) were $7.98/doz at Shoprite here in NJ. gonna take a while to recover from this bird flu thing.
Bwahaha. We have a 2019 which is fair bit more techy than the 2015. I like the adaptive cruise control but I haven't learnt the half of it yet and don't feel the need.Still trying to learn all the tech, as my old SUV had none!
Yeah… I went from 2015 to 2024. Quite the change!Bwahaha. We have a 2019 which is fair bit more techy than the 2015. I like the adaptive cruise control but I haven't learnt the half of it yet and don't feel the need.
Yes, I think so it is... if there's nothing that you and your wife needed to cut that means you are super frugal.![]()
I remember that there was a playtex product line with that name. It even exists till today. That's funny.I wouldn't be surprised if there was a Playtex product with that name. My girdle days are long gone!
