What puts a smile on your face

The best is watching when someone catches their very first fish

That one is hard to beat

Especially when it's yer son

He was 12 years old
We'd walked the stream most the afternoon
Nary a nibble
Then...BAM!
A 16" searun cutthroat hit his line
Took him a few minutes of careful negotiation
He gilled it outa the water, held it up, and kissed it
I'll never forget his beaming face
I couldn't help but smile, as I knew that feeling

...and, He's now a commercial fisherman
Been one for over twenty years
Has two 90' boats
I think that day had an influence on him

Seeing any animal makes me smile - happens every time without me thinking about it.
Especially the nightly visit from 1-6 raccoons for dinner. Tonight, the mother stood up on her hind legs & watched me pour the kibble into her bowl from a foot away.

For a while, we had an injured buzzard (broken wing) that stayed in my shed. We ended up being able to hand feed him. Now, that he's healed, he still hangs around and likes to fly over the wife while she's walking the little fur babies. Sitting on the deck watching always makes me smile. :) He'll also fly over me when I'm on my tractor.

When a busty gal, in a low-cut, scoop top, bends over to pick something up, and I happen to be right in front of her, my smile could light up the darkness of Hell! 😈

When I come home from work, my daughter's dog, snickers, comes running to me, her tail wagging, jumping up. She's so excited to see me. Heck, she's more excited to see me than anyone in the house! :devilish:

Tonight was interesting. I saw the Raccoon paw prints, so I knew they were close by. I filled their bowl with Kibble & the mom & dad must have been really hungry; they RAN up to the bowl gobbled the whole thing down in 2 minutes while I watched from 1 foot away.
Then, when the bowl was empty, one of them did something he never did before. He walked right up to me, stood on my feet with his hind legs & stood up with his front paws out. When my heart slowed down, I realized that was his way of asking for seconds. I refilled the bowl.

I think I know why they were so hungry. A couple of nights ago, I saw them getting busy......
My food bill is going to go up in a few months.
