What skill or talent do you wish for ?

Over the last few years, I've wanted so much to be able to play the guitar. I know a great deal about them, but my hands cannot work together to play. I had three years of piano lessons and never could get the right and left hands to work independently. Yet, I can type with the best of them....which of course requires the use of ONLY one finger at a time.

I love music, and watch an awful lot of concerts and just envy the Justin Haywards and Keith Richards and Willie Nelsons of the world. There is just so much musical talent out there, and I need to just be happy I can listen to them.

So that's my yearning, what is yours???

I always regretted not taking flying lessons and getting a pilot's license. I don't mean flying a plane with passengers, just a small one for myself and maybe one passenger. Then again, you don't always need a pilot's license to fly smaller planes. Never liked boats. But to be flying a small plane amongst the clouds on a nice sunny day. What a way to get away from it all!

I wish I could draw. That would give me more creative powers, I think.

I'd also like to be able to do calligraphy. Maybe one day. They say it just takes practice.

Independence studies are part of being a good drummer, too, so you can get your left and right hands doing different things at the same time. I mastered that, but have always wished to have learned piano or guitar. They weren’t marching band instruments and my orthodontist forbid a wind instrument, so I became a drummer, although it’s not exactly a solo instrument.

I liked boats, but no one else in my family had that interest or training, plus I lived several hundred miles inland.- -Oh well!

Now for other skills or talents, I really wish that I had a superpower! Shape-shifting would be my preference, but any one of them would do. That’s not gonna happen, either…*sighs* 😔

Patty, I am technically inclined, and I would love to help you get your compositions online. I am in no hurry, but I too would like to be involved with making this happen for you.
Oh. It was you who offered.
Do you have an iPhone or iPad.
I’d love to learn how to use garage band and it comes free with Apple.

Or we could both join a free karaoke app
I’m not sure you realize how technically challenged I am but thank you for offering.

Have you tried/looked at Band Lab? We could try it. Probably we will need to PM back and forth...I will start.

Many times in my life I wished I could do small talk. I know most of you wouldn't consider that a skill or a talent but for a person like me it takes a lot of practice to stay engaged in meaningless conversation.
Me too! In actual personal interactions, I am often tongue-tied --my three brain cells disengage and stick their tongues out at me.

The reason that some are good at "small, meaningless" talk is that it's not meaningless to them; they really do care about the weather, food prices, what size shoes a grandkid now wears, etc.

I wish I were better at small talk; what I've learned to do over the years is get the convo going by asking about their jobs or families (especially kids/g'kids) and just paste an interested look on my face and listen. Sure, I don't like being bored but sometimes I like being around other people even if they're talking about something I'm not interested in.
