What songs hit you with a wave of nostalgia every time you hear them?

So many... But Elton John's "Benny And The Jets" has a specific link to a time and place. It always takes me back. Not because of the song itself, it was just new and getting constant radio play.

If nostalgia can also be negative, then I'd say Black Water by the Doobie Brothers. Sound track to times I don't want to revisit.

So many songs that touch a place in my heart .
This one is because we used to sing it all the time when my kids were growing up. Anytime we traveled somewhere, the whole family used to sing songs as we drove along; my husband and I would sing songs we knew and loved to sing, and the three kids would all follow along, and learned the songs, too.
We sang a lot of the Kristofferson songs, Jim Reeves, and Johnny Cash, among others. I think that my kids probably still know most of them by heart, and I miss those good times together.

Dunno about wave of Nostalgia, but I'm pulled back to when I was 14, and on the only holiday I ever had as a child.. with my best friends parents. We had our first holiday romances.. ( and they were just innocent romances)... and the song at the top of the charts was..this.. and I always associate it with that little holiday at the beach in 1969..

"Could I Have This Dance (for the rest of my life)" by Ann Murray and "Can't Help Falling in Love (with you)" by Elvis Presley remind me of my late beloved wife, gone for 10 years now, and mother of my 4 daughters (3 of whom are now themselves mothers).
Happy Mother's Day!

Average White Band - Pick Up the Pieces

Reminds me of my first year of college in the dorm. There were several "pinball lounges" on campus in dorms and the Student Union building. This played over the radio so much I still think of it as "The Pinball Song."

Now I just flashed on the old "Satin Doll" pinball machine.
