This thread is for defining what a song in particular means to you. You can post a song video with lyrics or just post the lyrics and what certain parts of it or all of it means to you.😗😔😄


What this song means to me: Time has changed me , there's no control of time, it went slow for a long time in my life but now I turn around and see how much is gone and the emotions that come with it. I wonder if the good time outweighs the not so good time. I don't know about all the answers but am a searcher for them.

I feel like this song is closely related to the Hindu god Shiva, the god of destruction and loss. Always and everywhere is death and destruction. Nature is very balanced(most of the time) keeping the balance of life and death. When Shiva takes even very significant parts of our life, there is an attitude of thanks. I won't have to cry no more. :)

This song came out after my late hubby had passed and our sons were just beginning their adulthood.
Watching them turn into men I saw so much of their father in them, realized how even though the world
takes us in different directions, they would always be the very heart of me, my grounding, a love like no other.
I was driving the 1st time I heard this song and it reached out and squeezed my heart so tightly I had to pull
into a parking lot, cry and breathe.

It tells how it is to love and raise a child and accept what life gives us.

This is going to sound a bit weird…but “the boxer” by Simon and Garfunkle.
In the clearing stands a boxer, he is a fighter by his trade. And He carries a reminder of every man who cut him till he cried out in his anger and his pain…I am leaving, I am leaving…but the fighter still remains.

Has resonated with me always…even though or because I an a woman.
 
"More Than A Name On The Wall" always brings tears to my eyes, probably because I can relate to that era. It's so easy to get desensitized with all of the wars that have gone on and are still going on that we sometimes forget these are actuals sons, fathers, mothers, and daughters that have lost their lives so we can live in peace in our country.
