What was the best decade in America?

I don't think there is best decade. I know some fondly look back at the 1950s early 60s as an ideal time as they grew up. But that time was filled with race riots, fierce and long lasting strikes, the "BOMB" fears, and fallout shelters-"duck and cover". Pick any era, and good things happened, and bad things happened. For any generation, the best time is their childhood.

In my own experience, I'd say the 60's were the most exciting, the most optimistic, and also the worst. Certainly an interesting period.

The '90s were pretty good.

We had the tech boom including the development of the internet (albeit with dialup connections) and the ubiquity of the PC.

We actually won a war in the '90s (the Bosnian War). I think that's the only war we won since WWII.

I was in college during half of the '90s, so those were good years (relatively speaking). It was still cheap to live, which is how I was able to afford it, and tuition was still affordable at state universities. When I started, tuition was less than $500 a semester and my apartment was only $250 a month. Towards the end of the '90s, prices started to skyrocket.
