What Was the Last Movie You Watched?

Currently watching Roads to Memphis: Two Paths, One Ending on Prime Video

It's a fascinating (so far) PBS documentary about James Earl Ray and Martin Luther King.

I try to go to a movie at the local theater at least once a week. My last movie was 80 For Brady with Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, Lily Tomlin and Sally Field. They are all great actresses, but I felt they were somewhat wasted in this movie. It was mildly entertaining. I've also recently seen A Man Called Otto, Plane and Meg3an at the theater. They were all entertaining and better than I expected, especially A Man Called Otto. I like to just get away from everyday life for a while.
A friend of mine is an avid movie fan, so she talked me into going to the theater with her a few times this winter. I've seen A Man called Otto, and just today saw 80 for Brady. Both films are based on true stories. I enjoyed both of them.

I watched this documentary about Woody Allen earlier this evening. It's pretty interesting if you're a fan of his work. Personally, I'm not a fan of anything he's done after 1980, but I really like his early movies.

An incredibly sad film.
The Cure 1995
Having just moved to a new town, Erik is thrilled when he makes friends with his younger neighbour, Dexter, and his friendly mom.
Despite the disapproval of his own neglectful mother, Erik grows close to Dexter, who suffers from AIDS.
As the disease's impact on Dexter's life grows more noticeable, Erik and Dexter embark on a quest to New Orleans down the Mississippi River, where hope may yet lie with a doctor there.

I have never seen a film such as this were a young child deals with the reality of AIDS
Heart wrenching.
I cried hard at the end.

"Murder in New Hampshire: The Pamela Smart Story"
Married woman convinces 3 high-school students to kill her husband.

I not only loved that movie, but her in-laws were customers at my store. Like me, they knew Pam was guilty from the get-go. The movie uses court transcripts. I watched the trial live every day.

I think she should definitely be released from jail. Those teen nudniks served barely anything, while Pam is in it for life. In her case I think enough is enough.

We watch a chick-flick every once in a while and the other night we watched "Shotgun Wedding", with Jen Lopez. It was terrible. Don't bother with this one unless you can't sleep and need something to make you sleep. The whole thing was just stupid and not even a comedy. At the credits, I noticed Ryan Reynolds was a producer or something. That explains a lot.

The mastermind is usually considered the most dangerous & is given the harshest sentence. I think Pam should never be released.
But I do agree none of them should have been paroled.

I recently saw Viking Wolf on Netflix, and am glad I did despite being initially put off by the title and the fact that the werewolf is a 17-year-old girl. it seems that the Vikings in 1050 during a raid brought home with them an infected wolf pup that established a werewolf blood line in Norway. Fast forward ahead to the present, and a teenaged girl attending a party in the woods gets infected. It’s surprisingly well acted, and incorporates a lot of werewolf lore, including silver bullets and a grizzled old werewolf hunter. Viking Wolf is great for fans of the werewolf horror subgenre, if you can stomach a few gruesome autopsy scenes… 🙀

Liar, Liar with Jim Carrey previous to this one, Paul, the alien film created by the guy who's the new Scotty in the latest Star Trek films by JJ Abrams.

Re-watching "Arranged" with Zoe Lester-Jones and Francis Benhamou. I love the quiet dignity of this movie and the friendship of the young ladies. As a reserved, conservative person, I can really identify with the two main characters and their struggles.

Oh, I forgot... I watched Guilty by Suspicion a few days ago starring Robert De Niro and Annette Benning and some other big name moviestars.

Excellent movie.

I might watch a PBS documentary about McCarthy this evening. Those were some dark days in American history.

I really like DeNiro and Benning, but don't think I've seen this movie. I'll see if I can locate it. Thanks for the tip.

Really took quite a lot of the day, by the way...and when you're into funky magic and in UK. You end up watching loads. What can I say, films buff. Writing reviews occasionally on the Android app called LETTERBOXD. Quite good to find additional films to view.

Today twas the "Harry Potter Collection" via Sat box...Later all!

I finished the documentary about Joe McCarthy this evening. Some things never change.

McCarthy chronicles the rise and fall of Joseph McCarthy, the Wisconsin senator who came to power after a stunning victory in an election no one thought he could win. Once in office, he declared that there was a vast conspiracy threatening America — emanating not from a rival superpower, but from within. Free of restraint or oversight, he conducted a crusade against those he accused of being enemies of the state, a chilling campaign marked by groundless accusations, bullying intimidation, grandiose showmanship and cruel victimization. With lawyer Roy Cohn at his side, he belittled critics, spinning a web of lies and distortions while spreading fear and confusion. After years in the headlines, he was brought down by his own excesses and overreach. But his name lives on linked to the modern-day witch hunt we call “McCarthyism.”

The night before last it was Guess Who with Bernie Mac (RIP) and a young Ashton Kutcher. Good moral to the story. Last night, it was White House Down with Channing Tatum. Not a good as Olympus Has Fallen with Gerard Butler, but it was enjoyable.
