What Was the Last Movie You Watched?

Here in Australia they seem to put "The Sound of Music" on at least twice a year. I have to switch off , how much more of this film do we need to see? I saw it when it was first released here in 1965., 58 years ago. It was lovely then but not anymore.

Just watched this on Netflix last night and it was excellent. Fun to see Truman Hanks playing a younger version of his father's character.
Good movie.
It's based on "A Man Called Ove" by Fredrik Backman. There was a quite good Swedish film adaptation about 8 years ago.

The book is very, very good. I saw the Swedish movie but haven't yet watched the one on Netflix. Glad to learn it's good.

I think I actually have that book in my "to be listened to" pile in Audible. It will moving to the top now. :)

I don't think I'd be able to buy into the concept of Tom Hanks as a grumpy old man. He's too nice a guy and he looks like a nice guy. The actor in A Man Called Ove was a better fit.

He did a good job portraying the very unlikable Colonel Tom Parker in the recent Elvis movie.
I haven't seen that one yet, either. The guy who plays Elvis seems like he was miscast. I'll watch it when it's on one of the streaming platforms that I subscribe to... and not have to pay to watch it... or sit through commercials.

It was better than I expected. The actor playing Elvis was actually pretty good.

Just watched the last 3 quarters of the original "Blade Runner" hadn't seen it for some time - all the old magic came back - marvellous - I was just disappointed I didn't see them flying off together ! my son recommended; "Dune ; Guardians of the Galaxy I ; andn Altered Carbon Series I ' may take some time!!

I’ve been watching Midnight Mass on Netflix, a good, slow-building gothic horror mini-series set on an isolated island that harbors a depressed fishing community. The series is well-acted with memorable characters and rich atmospherics, and great creepy paranormal elements. It’s all here, from the Catholic Church to miracles to winged, blood-sucking monsters that just might be dark angels…and it’s thoughtfully and intelligently done! Midnight Mass is full of plot twists and surprises, and is well worth a look if you enjoy suspenseful horror…

watching a King in New York - charlie chaplins last movie I believe?/

A King in New York is a 1957 British comedy film directed by and starring Charlie Chaplin in his last leading role, which co-stars, among others, his young son Michael. The film presents a satirical view of the McCarthy communist-hunt era and certain other aspects of United States politics and society. The film, which was produced in Europe after Chaplin's exile from the U.S. in 1952, did not open in the United States until 1972. For this reason, the movie was presented on the island of Ischia, in Italy.

I watched that last fall. Agree it was well done.

Airport, from 1970. Good movie, albeit a bit campy.

I watched Airport 1977 a few days ago. Next is Airport 1975.
