My favourite has always been foremost Sir Roger Moore as James Bond in Live And Let Die. He was the first Bond I watched in my own after my Papa passed away. His Bond wa Sir Sean Connery, which I watched with him.

Then Pierce Brosnan's Bond watched with my Munchkins. They considered him, their Bond. Nowadays, it's Daniel Craig for both Daughter and I. The future is out there, we're hoping for another Roger Moore lookalike lol!

Bond in our opinion is generational!

I think Daniel Craig was supposed to be the last of the Bonds! And quite frankly, even though they were big commercial successes I found them too grim. I loved Roger Moore because he brought levity to his Bond, but think that Connery was the best of the lot! Brosnan was fine with me as well, it's only Timothy Dalton that really bothered me. His face looked mean, almost cruel ... well, at least to me! There was also one more Bond who played in only one movie (On Her Majesty's Secret Service?). I would have loved the movie, it was one of the best Bonds, if Diana Riggs hadn't been killed at the end!

BTW, Loved "Live and let die!"

George Lazenby was the odd actor out. He was a model first and foremost, he didn't like the money given...

Just enjoyed the action overall and the funny scene of Bond and the girl with the cello.

"It's just a cello..." with an echo... Funny, makes us all laugh...
 
Of course Sean Connery is the real James Bond, being the first and all. Second in line for me is Pierce Brosnan, except when he was dancing the Tango. That was painful for me to watch. He would have these weird facial contortions like he had to go to the bathroom or something. He was in several other movies where he had to do the Tango, and it was the same.

Actually that sounds quite interesting as well. I am just getting paranoid about all those "revenge" movies, where a wife or daughter gets killed or kidnapped and sets off the whole chain of events! Death Wish (Charles Bronson) was the worst example!

The Death Wish movies were pretty gruesome, but although I'm kind of squeemish, I liked them. Especially Death Wish 3 where he teaches the senior citizens how to protect themselves from getting robbed and killed all the time.

Confession: I watched and loved them all. Especially the one you mentioned! But I had to fast forward most of the Death Wish movies past the initial attacks, rapes of wives, girlfriends and daughters! The revenge part I loved! Wimp!!!!

This movie was a true story of a father who lost his son due to relentless bullying. He decides to walk across the country to raise awareness of the issue . What happens while travelling is tragic

It’s a very moving movie about unfair judgment and the cruelty of mankind towards one another. If you don’t fit in, you are attacked.
 
I remembered this movie fondly: Meet Joe Black (1998). A lot of smart writing and heart, some truly beautiful moments.


Just watched it again. At my present age it hits me entirely differently. Mortality is a tough concept right now.

How does it make anyone else feel? Can you even face it right now?
 
I think it's a push as to whether Sean Connery or Daniel Craig is the best Bond. For me, it's a bit difficult to do a direct comparison due to the number of years between them. Connery was Bond from 1962-1983, Daniel Craig was 2006-2021. That's over 2 decades between them and a lot changed over those years. "Thunderball" was great back in 1965, the exotic locations and all. It was before the world went global and people began to travel so much. So different from 2021, but a great movie.

Pierce Brosnan attempting to sign in Mama Mia... That's painful. Must admit missed the tango lol!

I loved Live and Let Die for the first appearance of Roger Moore and especially that of Jane Seymour (I developed a platonic crush on her), as well as the overwrought sheriff's reactions in the speed boat race! :)
