My favourite has always been foremost Sir Roger Moore as James Bond in Live And Let Die. He was the first Bond I watched in my own after my Papa passed away. His Bond wa Sir Sean Connery, which I watched with him.Just curious! How many liked Timothy Dalton as James Bond? I could never warm up to him!
I think Daniel Craig was supposed to be the last of the Bonds! And quite frankly, even though they were big commercial successes I found them too grim. I loved Roger Moore because he brought levity to his Bond, but think that Connery was the best of the lot! Brosnan was fine with me as well, it's only Timothy Dalton that really bothered me. His face looked mean, almost cruel ... well, at least to me! There was also one more Bond who played in only one movie (On Her Majesty's Secret Service?). I would have loved the movie, it was one of the best Bonds, if Diana Riggs hadn't been killed at the end!My favourite has always been foremost Sir Roger Moore as James Bond in Live And Let Die. Then Pierce Brosnan's Bond watched with my Munchkins. They considered him, their Bond. Nowadays, it's Daniel Craig for both Daughter and I. The future is out there, we're hoping for another Roger Moore lookalike lol!
Bond in our opinion is generational!
George Lazenby was the odd actor out. He was a model first and foremost, he didn't like the money given...I think Daniel Craig was supposed to be the last of the Bonds! Oh gosh, I'm glad you like it! It is so sweet.@dobielvr I am twenty minutes into the movie and love it! Any other recommendations re. rom-coms? I was getting tired of most of my former choices and this is like a breath of fresh air!
What are the odds? I had started to watch the opening titles of Insomnia and was tempted by @dobielvr to watch a rom-com instead. And it was great. Just what I needed at present! Was there loads of action in Insomnia without getting too serious, @Jules ?Insomnia, on Netflix. 2002 with Pacino and Robin Williams. Well done. Not a comedy.
It’s not an action movie. Two LA police officers go to small town Alaska to investigate the murder of a 17 year old girl.
Actually that sounds quite interesting as well. I am just getting paranoid about all those "revenge" movies, where a wife or daughter gets killed or kidnapped and sets off the whole chain of events! Death Wish (Charles Bronson) was the worst example! It’s not an action movie. Two LA police officers go to small town Alaska to investigate the murder of a 17 year old girl.
The Death Wish movies were pretty gruesome, but although I'm kind of squeemish, I liked them. Especially Death Wish 3 where he teaches the senior citizens how to protect themselves from getting robbed and killed all the time.Actually that sounds quite interesting as well. Confession: I watched and loved them all. Especially the one you mentioned! But I had to fast forward most of the Death Wish movies past the initial attacks, rapes of wives, girlfriends and daughters! The revenge part I loved! Live and Let Die. My first JB, Roger Moore and a kickass Paul McCartney song. Yup overwatched *SIGH*What's your best loved Bond movie? Mine is "Goldfinger!" My most re-watched Bond ever!
Pierce Brosnan attempting to sign in Mama Mia... That's painful. Must admit missed the tango lol!Of course Sean Connery is the real James Bond, being the first and all. Second in line for me is Pierce Brosnan, except when he was dancing the Tango. That was painful for me to watch. He would have these weird facial contortions like he had to go to the bathroom or something. He was in several other movies where he had to do the Tango, and it was the same.
I loved Live and Let Die for the first appearance of Roger Moore and especially that of Jane Seymour (I developed a platonic crush on her), as well as the overwrought sheriff's reactions in the speed boat race!Live and Let Die.
