What Was the Last Movie You Watched?

Rest in Peace on Netflix. About a man who gets into tremendous debt and how he finds a way out of it. Excellent!!

Same kind of different as me.
Ron and Debbie seemingly have the perfect life. But when their faith and family are tested, an unlikely bond with a homeless drifter leads them on a remarkable journey that forges an everlasting friendship.

Based on a true story memoir.
I recommend this as an uplifting movie with some sad moments.
(Apple TV, Google Play Movies and Vudu)

K-19: The Widowmaker

Harrison Ford and Liam Neesom together in this movie should tell viewers it’s going to be a pretty good movie. Long story short, the movie is about a new Russian nuclear submarine goes out to sea on a training mission and the nuclear reactor that powers the sub springs a leak. A few men in charge of the nuclear reactor have to enter the enclosed room in an attempt to weld shut the leak.

I believe 5 men perished from radiation poisoning while attempting to repair the reactor and several more later after returning to base. Good movie, but some parts were hard to understand because of the severe accent and dialect while trying to read the script lines at the bottom of the screen.

Rewatched this last week. Very powerful and emotional end to Jackman's and Stewart's iconic portrayals of their X-Men characters across several films. You will need a box of tissues even if you haven't followed the franchise.

Almost a neo-western film.

"The Scapegoat" (1959). I've watched it today. Based on a novel by Daphne Du Maurier. I'd watched it for the first time as a teenager and it impressed me deeply. I was more than happy, that I found the movie now decades later on YouTube (even in HD).
An unmarried lonely teacher for French at an English university, who always goes on vacation to his beloved France. If you like a quote from the beginning, as he is asked if he has something to declare : "Nothing to declare. You can't declare an emptiness in the heart."
Alec Guiness as the teacher who has an evil look-alike in a French nobleman. But watch it for yourself.

Last night we watched Adrift which is
is based on a true story. It stars Shailene Woodley and Sam Claflin as Tami Oldham Ashcraft and Richard Sharp, two sailors who embarked on a voyage from Tahiti to San Diego in 1983 and ran smack into Hurricane Raymond. I won’t write any more so I don’t wreck the plot of the story. If you like adventurous, true story movies, then this is the one for you.

I watched The Suicide Squad & Suicide Squad. I knew that I had seen one of them before, but I wasn't sure which one.

I ended up researching the one that I had seen, then watched the sequel. Both were good, if you're into that type of movie....which I am.

FYI: The first movie has the word "The" in the title. The second movie doesn't have the word "The" in the title.

I'm wondering who came up with that idea, and why?!!!! Why not just call them The Suicide Squad & The Suicide Squad 2, since one is a sequel for the other?

I tried watching "Anna of the Five Towns" (1985)--kind of along the same line as Gaskell's "North and South"?-- on Amazon but I just couldn't get past the father calling his daughter "wench" and once "vile wench"!! Egad, I realize he wasn't the most sympathetic character but seriously? I gave up 1/2 way through the 2nd episode.

I watched "Wicked Little Letters" today at the theaters. It is about an anonymous person sending nasty, vulgar letters to various residents in a small community in the UK. A particular, very crass woman is accused so it is up to a very insightful female investigator to find out if she is indeed the one sending them.

I love Olivia Coleman and she is nothing less than fantastic in the movie. It is a comedy drama. No belly laughs, but lots of snickers.

Another ‘feel good’ movie based on a true story. A young girl is deathly ill and needs a new liver. This movie is about the struggles they went through. The beginning is a bit slow but the end will surely bring a tear to your eye.

@Bella I watched the music video by "Beth and Joe" you posted today. I don't remember her, which is strange because she is phenomenal. So I researched a bit, and watched this hour Documentary about her. Thanks for the heads up! :)

Parasyte: The Grey is a Netflix series much like the marvelous B-grade science fiction movies that I grew up on, but with modern special effects. Somewhat like Invasion of the Body Snatchers, these alien parasites enter humans through their ears, nose, or throat, eat their brain, then impersonate them. Upon demand, the impersonators can split their head open into sharp, flailing tentacles with which they fight and kill…

One human, however, was not fully assimilated as the alien had to devote too much time to healing her grievous bodily injuries, so she retained her humanity together with alien capabilities, and is fighting back against them. If you like syfy horror, you may enjoy this Korean series, which has startling special effects…

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

I have never seen the first Jumanji movie. None of my free streaming services have it, and someone stole the copy that was at the library. So, I got tired of waiting and decided to watch this one.

I'm glad I did! It was very entertaining!

Started watching Zone of Interest, HBO, last night, but could not finish it. Too unnerving. However, I can see it is a great film and I will pick it up, from the beginning, during daylight hours.
