What was this teacher thinking? No common sense anymore.

That was a daily occurrence back in the Wild '60's at any serious party.

I agree that you shouldn't spring weed yummies on people without telling them - that IS wrong. But unadulterated pot does not send you to the hospital, even if you've never tried it before.

The write-up of this story and the coverage by the media is just too suspect - they're making like she was a terrorist poisoning the water supply. It's friggin' pot brownies - get a grip, CNN!

Now she MAY have added something else, in which case, yeah, fry the ^%$#. But weed? C'mon ...

What was she thinking? She wasn't. She's an idiot. But, could I have one of those brownies, please. Thank-you. Thank-you very much. Hmmmm, believe I'll have another . . . while we discuss the mysteries of the universe...

Conspiracy? I suppose that is possible. However, the report states that one person was rushed to the hospital from the dinner and hospitalized. If that is accurate, there is the possibility the person was allergic. If severe enough to cause anaphylactic shock, it is life threatening. A small percentage of people also will hallucinate after ingesting or smoking Marijuana. Someone taken to the emergency room suffering hallucinations,, of an unknown origin, could possibly also be admitted. I also think it is possible that a person feeling strange, and not understanding why, would seek medical attention. Perhaps it is also possible that charging her with poisoning is overreacting, but at the very least (IMO) it is a form of assault. This woman should be prosecuted, she is obviously an idiot.

In states where it is legal, maybe there should be a law requiring that any food containing marijuana being brought to potlucks, etc. should be clearly labeled, so people at least know what they are eating. Of course, that would be hard to enforce. ("But your honor, I definitely had a sign next to the plate. Someone must have removed it!")

Conspiracy? I suppose that is possible.

More than possible - the government was guilty of poisoning alcohol during Prohibition, and during the '80's they were spraying paraquat on marijuana fields.

However, the report states that one person was rushed to the hospital from the dinner and hospitalized. If that is accurate, there is the possibility the person was allergic. If severe enough to cause anaphylactic shock, it is life threatening.

It is possible that they had Aspergillosis, an allergic reaction to the Aspergillus fungus that is sometimes found on field-grown marijuana. That is the only time I've heard of an allergic reaction to weed, other than when it was adulterated with a foreign substance.

But the chances of that happening? Very small.

A small percentage of people also will hallucinate after ingesting or smoking Marijuana. Someone taken to the emergency room suffering hallucinations,, of an unknown origin, could possibly also be admitted.

Citations. please? I've never known or read of anyone hallucinating from marijuana, especially when ingested orally. THC does not affect the same brain centers as hallucinogens.

I also think it is possible that a person feeling strange, and not understanding why, would seek medical attention.

Now THAT I agree with, but unfortunately in the context of these reports it is seen as proof positive of poisoning.

Perhaps it is also possible that charging her with poisoning is overreacting, but at the very least (IMO) it is a form of assault. This woman should be prosecuted, she is obviously an idiot.

Agreed. :D

 I was expecting Phil would be jumping in on this one. Then I was going to use him as another example to prove my point. :lofl:

All right, ALL RIGHT! :D

As always, correlation does not equal causation. Both idiots and geniuses drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes, and they both smoke dope too. This one just seems to fall on the negative side of the brain-power scale.
