What was your favorite game to play when you were a child?

When I was a child I loved being to able to play kickball and go swing on ropes attached to trees! My neighbor had huge trees in their yard and the father created a jump off board 1/2 way up the tree and we would use the rope and swing back and forth. There was also a very steep hill that we would ride our bikes down! When dad wasn't making us play outside, I loved playing with the orange hot wheel tracks!

I was such a tomboy! Always earning scrapes, bumps and bruises! Did not break my first bone until aged 30!

I loved the outdoors when I was a child....It was a time you didn't have to be scared to go outside till Mom would call me for dinner....I hardly went into the house
for lunch...Mom would bring me a piece of fruit or a peanut butter sandwich.....In the winter we were also outside either throwing snow balls at each other and just
playing in the snow....We had a lot of kids on our block....I loved Ice Skating in the local Park in the winter....I loved my bicycle, baseball on my corner of my block, not much traffic would go there....When we were in Middle School we danced when American Bandstand was on at 4 PM.....I had a great childhood....

My brother gathered some of our Cousins for a Reunion....I will be going up North with my brother to meet some of my Cousins that I haven't seen in many years....

when the weather was nice I loved anything outdoors like bicycles, pogo sticks, hop scotch, jump rope, roller skates. In the winter, still outdoors building snow forts, having snow ball fights, building snowmen, playing fox and geese on a big circle we made in the city park.

If weather really awful, would do paint by numbers (I loved those things), I'd read, play checkers, tinker toys, lincoln logs and barbie doll.

We were always outside playing.. We didn't have much but we made our own fun.climbing, jump rope, playing 2 balls against the nearest wall, a little bit of chalk and an old tobacco tin gave us the makings of hopscotch... . we'd make paper aeroplanes and dolls...

My favourite were Balls against the walls and Chinese ropes...

I liked roller skating with the old key skates that clamped onto your shoes, also bike riding, hand ball, stoop ball and other games like hit the stick, red light, green light, jump rope, etc. I used to like to play with a bow and arrow (suction cup type), tennis, etc. Actual games were monopoly, scrabble, Chinese checkers, Pick Up Sticks and games like that.

Monopoly.

Aside from being outside most my waking hours, there were evening times.
Times when my folks had company.
Times when they’d all sit at the card table and play that fascinating game called Monopoly.

I wasn’t let near it.

So I stood there, looking on.

The table was face high.

The little captivating metal ship, the racecar, the shoe…eyeball level.

Everbody took their turns, getting around the board

I remained at Go, keeping tabs on Boardwalk, Luxury Tax and Park Place….and Uncle Ray’s secret stash of 100 dollar bills.

Decades later, I mercilessly took money from my own children…making them play

I loved playing jail break. It was a game where the boys played against the girls. First the girls would hide and the boys would look for them. If they found a girl she had to let him kiss her and then the boys would hide and the girl that found them would kiss them.I loved the game because the boy I liked would secretly ask me where I was going to hide so he could find me and then when it was his turn to hide he would tell me where to find him Oh how I LOVED that game.LOL

Bike riding, roller skating, jacks with a little red ball, also marbles.
Brothers had toy trucks and busied themselves for hours.
Inside we played "Store" - I spent lots of time cutting pictures if items from magazine ads, writing a price on them, arranging on a table ... I would be cashier and brothers would be customers.
