I worked for a large bank, but never in a branch. Started out in the receipt, delivery, and retail sale and management of some securities. In the early days of the PC I got certified as a Novell CNE, organized and supervised conversion and installation in many departments and server rooms in San Francisco and one in Houston. Also setup PCs for conventions, and installed securities instruction software for a few customers, including one in Bermuda and another in Puerto Rico. Also put together slide presentations for some bank officers to use at presentations.
May sound great, but not really. That was the early days. A lot of what I did was destined to be replaced by enormous remote server rooms and a lot of contract labor. I saw the handwriting on the wall and probably two or three years before I might have been laid off, retired at age 57.
