What would be a reasonable price to pay for a large size ice cream cone?

I've been hankering for some soft ice cream, but it's so expensive now. $5.50 for a large size cone, and that doesn't include any "extras" like dip, sprinkles or twist flavors. It's a little less for just a"dish" (without cone). I remember in the summer, my dad couldn't get enough soft ice cream (he even wanted to buy a machine, but mom wouldn't let him. We'd pile in the car and drive to Bubbles Restaurant which was the only local place that had it (still in business but under new management), but back them it was probably not over $1.50 for a jumbo cone.

Now it seems there's several ice cream stands in every town - more competition, but not low prices.

Any idea what they are selling for in your area?

A large soft serve cone without any additional options is a flat $5.00 at my usual stop.

I guess the question is how did your dad’s income compare to the cost of an ice cream cone back in the day. 🤔

I’m happy to report that I can afford the $5.00 easier today than I could have afforded the $1.50 years ago.

YOLO, enjoy the ice cream while you are able and keep in mind that next summer it may cost even more!!!😉🤭😂
 

At this point in my life, I’m going to eat what I want and not bother with the cost. An ice cream cone at cold Stone creamery is nine dollars. It’s huge and delicious and loaded with calories. I probably only get a couple a year. Not because of the cost but because of the calories

I also decided a year ago since I love filet mignon I was going to occasionally buy some and cook it for myself. Two tiny fillets are $25 but it’s two meals for me. It’s much more expensive to eat that in a restaurant of course.

Mom wouldn't let him buy an ice cream......now that's funny. That would never happen with me or my Dad....or anyone I know.
 
A single serving 2 scoop ice cream on a waffle cone is $5.25 here plus 14% tax.
We all went out to get ice cream when our company came. I thought the price was reasonable. I had tiger tail. Apparently tiger tail is only available in Canada. It’s orange and licorice flavours.

My Dog named Luke loved a bowl of Meadow Lane ice cream after a walk.
That was in the early 90's. He could tunnel under his doghouse out in the back yard.
He never dug out of the fence though! He took his house time and the back of my
4x4 as his explore time.

Why would he tunnel under his door house?
Did you not let him in the house?
 
We had a icecream in a little tiny tub while in QLD …it cost us $9 each …and it was horrible….blah :sick::sick::sick:
tasted like it was made with powdered ingredients like powdered milk …..this place was once known for delicious onsite made ice-cream…. Copenhagen….right in the heart of Surfers Paradise….Queensland



We buy a tub ice cream not very far away from us at a town called Laura 1/2 hour drive from us

It’s the only ice cream maker in S.A. that dosent use palm oil

I haven't bought an ice cream cone in a long time, but I just checked Braum's website where I live, and a double dip cone is currently $2.94. That's very reasonable compared to some posts I've been reading.

We have one restaurant in town that gives a free soft serve cone with any meal purchase.
