What would you do in this man's position ?

That woman is a typical "Karen", she's a nutter! It's none of her business what that man and those kids were doing, if they were breaking a law she could have called the police.

For her to take their money, argue like that with the man, asking him personal questions, and then throwing everything off the table onto the ground was crossing the line. I doubt I would have been as cool as that man was, especially after she had the nerve to grab his phone too.

Kudos to the man for not doing anything worse that could get him in trouble, even though she was provoking him and asking for it. I hope he reports her to the police and shows them the video, at least if she further harasses him or the kids, they'll have a record of her psycho behavior. Some people!

Aw Jeez. It's all about the covid stuff again. Will people ever stop hating each other over this? This is why my car got vanadalized for the first time in my life.
Why do you say that your car being vandalized had anything to do with covid? That doesn't make any sense unless they left a clue, like spray painted something covid related on the car. My car was vandalized long before the pandemic, there are people who just commit crimes, been going on since the beginning of time.

Thanks Jules, now I believe it is wraunchy cheap publicity stunt. Notice how the woman is completely shielded, mask and sunglasses and hat. Mitch has nothing, hmmm.

Because the restrictions in my state are some of the strictest in the USA. And, despite what many say, people ARE going insane from them and behaving violently towards each other and one another's property.

My car has never been vandalized in my life, nor my parents' cars nor grandparents cars. I don't live in a bad area at all. People here have been cracking up for the past 14 months. I see the kind psychological distress the woman in @hollydolly's video exhibits over and over for months now. It IS real. It's costing me money I don't have and cannot afford, also because of covid.

The man’s name is Mitch Hollow. He has 170K YouTube subscribers.

He definitely knows how to handle himself. He’s not getting many hits from this video. Under 1300 when I looked. If it’s fake, it’s not really successful.
He wrote this in explanation...

Some background: As restrictions have eased up in my state, I decided to allow my two older children (6 and 8) to set-up a little lemonade stand at my cousin's house, in a nice neighborhood where my kids often play. As they were having their fun this lady comes up and starts scolding them about the health and safety risks of selling lemonade and she takes their money from the table. I confront her and begin recording the interaction while doing my level best to keep the situation as rational and calm as possible. And for anybody wondering why I'm not raging at her for taking my phone, try to consider the best strategy for dealing with a person like this, and with my kids watching through the window its important to remain calm and set a good example. She definitely could have broken my phone if she wanted to, but I simply took it back from her without much issue.

Still, if this one IS fake, then there are situations happening like this all over .. but most people don't get off with a ticking off...

This doesn't seem like a really good time to be selling lemonade with kids putting ice cubes in cups with bare hands. It looks like a very well to do neighborhood so I doubt if the children needed the money. Surely they could have found other fun things to do.

I'm suspicious of this man and his website. Youtube is full of "Karen" videos made by men like him. They usually start with an irate woman. We don't see the lead up that made her lose her temper, we don't know what he said to her and we rarely see the man behind the camera. We wouldn't have seen this man if she hadn't turned his own camera on him.

Notice that all the while she's trying to explain herself he's talking over her in his superior tone, so she has to raise her voice to be heard. He is in control, he is filming, she is his unwilling video star and his victim.

She was probably in the wrong, but we don't know how calm and nice she might have been toward the children or for how long, before she picked up their money to make them stop. The whole "let's go to another neighborhood and I'll set you kids up with a lemonade stand" sounds very suspect to me.

Sure, she probably should have left the kids alone while making sure her own kids stayed away, but I think he's a manipulative jerk who spends his time setting up situations for his website.

I agree, Della, especially with your first paragraph. Going one step further, I have never been a big fan of these kid-operated lemonade stands. Probably in most cases, the lemonade is OK, but who really knows how clean and safe the kitchen is where the lemonade was made, or who made it? Young children are not usually known for their immaculate hand-washing.

And even worse, who knows what's really in it? Some sicko could have added some hallucinigenic drug or something. I never buy lemonade from these stands, and never have, not even long before Covid came along. I just don't trust their safety.

Which of course in no way excuses the way the woman was behaving, if it was on the level, that is. She had a right to express her objection to the man, but absolutely no right to take the money. But...

Where were the kids? She took their money, and just remained standing there while the kids ran back to the house to tell Dad? Or, if Dad was standing there supervising them, did he just stand there meekly trying to argue with her? Plus, with all the trigger-happy crazies currently running around loose in this country, would he really stand there trying to argue with a furious, practically hysterical woman? She could have been armed! The whole scenario gets more and more bizarre the more you think about it.

I'm a sucker for a bunch of kids and a card table!

I think that it teaches children some valuable lessons about dealing with people, work, profit & loss, etc...

If the kids look a little grubby and I feel uneasy about the quality of the items being offered for sale I take mine to go and dispose of it when I'm safely out of sight.

Well, strict state restrictions does not equal no crimes. I think your personal reactions to the pandemic are causing you to blame everything on it, I can understand that. I think that nutter in the video would have lashed out at people for any excuse if there was no coronavirus pandemic going on. Somebody with that personality doesn't need a reason, they'll create one if necessary. I imagine this isn't here first go round with someone, barking at them what they need to do.

This has always been our practice, too.

I think the video was a setup. The video lasts over 3 minutes, kids not in sight, the back & forth almost sounds scripted.

But as a topic to generate opinions it works. My opinion was about the health issue. I think in a real situation the woman that "stole" the money would be long gone. So pointing out the woman's concern for public health was the basis for my opinion.

But it's reasonable to expect sentimentality to sway what I guess the video was supposed to portray.

The man is accusing the woman of stealing the kids money. No evidence of that since she stayed there pointing out the unsanitary elements of the setup.

The good old days of kids making some money like that are gone. Passing along a virus while not intentional could take place. I side with the woman & her concern for health.
Wouldn't she have denied stealing the money if that were the case? I hear what you are saying but IF she stole the money that takes this to a whole other level...

No problem with it, Holly, it's obviously a joke. He's writing this about himself!

The trash video was a little more believable than the other one. But if so, Mitch is taking kind of a stupid chance, considering how overwrought Dale was acting. Again, the threat of gun violence comes to mind. Dale seems like exactly the kind of hothead who would shoot someone over a confrontation like this.

Mitch doesn't seem to believe in reporting crimes to the police. In the first case, he should have called the police and reported theft, and whatever you call it when somebody deliberately damages your property, as she did. (Not to mention her grabbing his phone!) But that one had too many holes in it. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I'd doubt it, based on all the issues that were raised.

In the case of Dale, not sure what the laws in Oregon are about dumping your trash on someone else's property, but I'm sure that's at least a misdemeanor. Again, why didn't Mitch just take the matter to the police? And did the truck just happen to come by, with the cup flying out of it, at exactly the right moment for Mitch to get it on camera?

He does make Youtube videos, maybe as a living, maybe as a kind of hobby. Does he deliberately stir up these situations, knowing the other person will behave like a jerk, just to get a video out of it?

The videos certainly are interesting, in any case!

Since she stayed there was no intent to steal or as the thread implies she stole the money.
Had she left & not engaged in a 3 minute exchange with the father stealing or she stole the money would be accurate.

Did you see her take the money? I didn't all I heard was the claim that she stole the money. If there is a time or place in the video where she is seen taking the money please point it out.
So you think this whole video is based on a lie? Hmmmm...maybe the whole thing was staged. Maybe he doesn't have children at all. Perhaps that wasn't even lemonade! Oh PUH-LEEZE! :ROFLMAO:
