What'd I say? Posted this on Reddit...

Sometimes I read Reddit and find some responses are really immature. It may be that some of those who downvoted are actually reading because they’re against PA.

Bottom line, you’re happy and that‘s what counts.

Just curious. I'm supposing your kids know your lifestyle. Dumb word, lifestyle; couldn't spell it's real name.

Yeah, I think most of the population on Reddit is much younger.

Bottom line, you’re happy and that‘s what counts.
Zactly. Thank you, @Jules

Be happy Medusa and enjoy your partners. Polyamory is an interesting topic, some years ago I even didn't know the word, but a male friend of a hiking club, also a senior and some years older than me, explained it. I'm not very active on Reddit, thus I don't know their rules, but you shouldn't be offended by the downvotes, obviously they are from people who are green with envy on your luck and joy.

Thank you @George1959 and welcome! :)
I actually checked this morning and my post is up to +3 so, you know, that's something. LOL
Anyway, you're right, of course, I don't need upvotes to validate my happiness; it just is and I'm so grateful for it. :) (...just thought I'd share some poly joy with the poly peeps, but... okay... LOL - joking... ;)

They don't like hearing people are happy? That's all I can think of.

You're right, it shouldn't bother you, but stuff like that does. It would bother me. I've observed the same thing on the Ravelry forums (knit and crochet site) People click disagree on posts and I can't usually figure out why. People have mentioned it there and some say they don't get it either.

I got to the forum on Reddit for children raised by borderline parents. It's extremely well moderated and while people don't always have to agree, put downs or devaluing a person is never tolerated.

You wouldn't think people would be cliquey on something like Ravelry, but I suppose people are people everywhere and the ones who are going to behave that way will do it in any setting.

I've noticed that too, that some threads on Reddit are very well moderated and others are looser.

Anyway, nother day; still happy. :)

Thank you, @Remy

I posted the following on Reddit (on the Polyamorous thread) a while ago and it's actually being downvoted. What? What did I say? I don't get it.

I'm so Freaking Happy Today ♥

It's a wonderful day and I have freaking amazing partners who make me happy and keep me safe with their solid love. All I want is to make them happy back, keep them aware of and basking in their awesomeness.

It's a great day and I'm happy only to revel in it for the sheer simple pleasure of it. ♥

I know I shouldn't let it bother me, but... sheesh. :/
I never did Reddit and have no idea about being downvoted. Is that like Likes and Dislikes? Do they remove your post if it's downvoted?

I don't see anything wrong with what you wrote, and I'm glad you're happy and having a wonderful day. In real life, it's all that matters.

Blimey @Medusa ! No wonder there are so many single ladies around, you've nabbed all the fellas! ;)

#Whatevermakesyouhappy :)

It is much like "likes,” and "dislikes," yes. The idea, I think, was originally meant to be used in such a way that irrelevant posts were downvoted, but of course, it's used as a like/dislike button. Human nature I suppose.

Thank you, @SeaBreeze for your kind, supportive words. :)

Maybe the downvoters are unhappy because they only have one partner.
I would go with you there cept it's a poly thread so the assumption would be that the members have multiple partners. Although, someone else did mention that peeps from outside the poly world could be reading the thread and responding, (although I've no idea why, #getalife <- I just learned that from @Trish ;). Who knows? Doesn't matter now; you guys have been so great. :) :)

I don't frequent Reddit much, as far as I can tell the majority there are in a much younger age bracket. The "upvoting/downvoting" thing is like a popularity contest, which is a turn-off for me.
Maybe you might like this forum, I came across it while Googling "Polyamorous". ;)
OK, I'll admit. I am out of it with this conversation. I have no idea what we're discussing here.

@Medusa A hashtag for your Reddit down voters maybe #WellJell ;) :)

It has something to do with having multiple lovers. I don’t know if they have to be the same sex or a combination there of.

I missed this, @911 or would have replied sooner. We were, well I was being kinda bummed about the response to a post I published on Reddit. But we've pretty much wrapped this thread up, everyone being great and helping me feel better. :) (Thanks again, guys. ♥)
