I don't want to put you off your dinner.. but I stopped eating swordfish when I found it was very high in Mercury.... you do you of course, but just in case you weren't aware..

Yes all the top predatory fish can have mercury, especially the bigger, older fish. The only person I've ever known to get mercury poisoning was my fish monger, he must have eaten a bunch of fish.

My neighbor lady across the street brought me some home made tamales. She brought me 1 of each....chicken, pork, beef and strawberry. She's so sweet.

I've been reciprocating w/ my backyard oranges and soon to be ripe lemons.

My oranges are coming in right now, too, @dobielvr. The tree is loaded, I'm guessing due to the extraordinary amount of rain we received last year. Lemon tree is also producing, but not nearly as prolifically. DD's lemon tree is loaded though.

I miss my orange and lemon trees in Spain... not that I like lemons all that much tbh.. but the aroma and the beauty of them, is what I miss...

I have small orange tree here in the UK but the oranges are really ornamental, they can't be eaten

Last party of the season today. Yesterday, I made some GF/vegan sugar cookie cutouts for one of the families coming this afternoon. Serious food allergies and sensitivities. Will make some GF/V pizza for them today, too.

I'm here to tell you, it's a good thing I'm an experienced baker because the cookie dough was an unholy mess to work with. Women made of lesser stuff would have tossed it in the trash. Five stars, my Aunt Fanny! It took a lot of tinkering for me to get it to roll out properly.

Final product's taste and texture are just ok, but they'll suffice, especially because the will soon be slathering the V/GF icing and cream cheese frostings I made to go on them.

Now I know why the mom buys sugar cookies rather than making them. Yow!

I know very little about the USA, but I would have thought N Carolina was as hot as Spain and Oranges grew readily ...No ?

I think we're not quite south enough for citrus. There's been a lot of vineyards popping up though as tobacco has become less profitable.

My Valencia is right in front of the navel, though not as abundant.

Tonight I had some slices of roast beef that I'd frozen well before Christmas.. with Yorkshire puddings and buttered mash..and beef gravy..

It wasn't until I sat down with it I realised I'd forgotten to cook the veggies. Oh well, it was deeelicious anyway..

No cooking for me tonight-WooHoo! It`s our 56th anniversary and we were going out to dinner anyway,but this morning our youngest dd sent $200.00 to my Venmo account and said to use it for a fancy dinner out! So that`s what we`ll do-although I`m pretty sure we`ll have enough left over to go out for breakfast tomorrow lol.
