Whats For Dinner/Supper ?

I will be making a chili tonight.
93% lean ground beef, small container of Pomi finely chopped tomatoes, green olives, chopped onion. I like to serve it in a deep dish on a bed on chopped romaine lettuce. I top it with shredded cheddar cheese, some sour cream, and some 3 color tortilla strips.
The sky is grey, it's raining, and the temperature is dropping. The menu soothes the weather!

I’ve just been cooking heaps of silver beet out of my chemical free tiny garden and I dropped a few of the leaves in the sauce I made to cook the lamb shanks in …extra iron for us .. and about 12 lots in freezer
Silverbeet is very similar to spinach but it grows heaps larger leaves and much taller…

Ive got 5 plants of SB this is one before I picked it this morning ….see cup in photo for size comparison

I throughly wash the SB outside as I pick it …using rainwater …picked 3 …10 Ltr size buckets full

Sunday Dinner will be the first small boiled dinner of the season.

A small piece of ham steak, a couple chunks of kielbasa, cabbage, onions, carrots, and potatoes. Season with S&P, garlic, and hot pepper flakes. Add two cups of water and simmer covered for 30-45 minutes until potatoes and cabbage are tender.

The leftovers make great hash!

I’ll freeze most of the broth for soup.

Sometimes I swap out the cabbage and carrots for a sack of frozen green beans.
