Whats For Dinner/Supper ?

I eat very light dinners. Last night I mixed 1/2 cup of Bob's Red Mill 5 Grain Rolled Hot Cereal mix with 1/2 cup of almond milk and nuked it for two minutes. Stirred in about 1/2 cup of (defrosted) frozen berries, some unsweetened applesauce and a strong dose of cinnamon. Healthy, delicious and just the right amount of food.

We went out for lunch so dinner was at lunch. A place "The Trident" opened by a Navy Seal DH had a reuben sandwich and fries (1/2 came home with him) and I had two fish tacos and fries. Best food ever and a great large outdoor patio at the Swan Rd location.

"The Story"

Trident Grill was opened in August of 2001 by Nelson Miller, retired US Navy SEAL. Trident is named after the special warfare insignia that all Navy SEALs wear on their uniforms. Miller was still active duty while opening the original Trident Grill and was called to serve in Iraq and Afghanistan.

As a patriot of our country, he answered the call to duty. While serving his country he still had to remain involved in his newest venture. He fell in love with the Arizona desert and culture of the Southwest when doing special training ops in Tucson and nearby areas.

Originally out of Maryland, Miller wanted to bring a touch of East Coast flavors and culture to the Southwest. As an avid sports fan, Miller wanted to bring energy and passion to entertain and serve the Tucson local community. The military presence in Tucson was a big factor in his decision and he wanted to have a special place for veterans to grab a beer, eat and laugh together.

His trident concept was based on: why can't you go to a bar/pub/sports grill and not have something other than bad bar food!! The East Coast-inspired menu brought items such as Old Bay-dusted peel and eat shrimp, bacon-wrapped scallops, lump blue crab cakes and a special recipe from his grandmother for clam chowder. Adding to that with oversized sandwiches and grass-fed burgers proved to be a winning combination of variety and quality that the Tucson local community came to love.

DH: baked cod, mashed potatoes.
Last night I made oatmeal raisin pecan cookies and that is what he had last night.

For myself a big salad with boiled eggs chopped on top for protein, roasted pumpkin seeds, and dried low sugar cranberries.

Turkey vegetable soup for tonite and a couple other days.
Would have made pot pie but no biscuits on hand and Im too lazy to make any.
Needed to use up the last of the Thanksgiving turkey in the freezer stash.

What are tater tots? is it some sort of potato dish?
In Texas they are a "dish" :ROFLMAO: Meaning Texans eat tater tots like they will never see another. They pile chili and then lots of grated cheddar cheese or spicy jack cheese on top and eat them for a whole meal. They also do that with Fritos corn chips: pile chili on top and cheese and that is a whole meal. Texans are great people.

Tater tots are another form of French fry; would be great with fish and replace your chips with tater tots. They come in "regular" and extra crispy. They are frozen solid as rocks and are baked in the oven.
