Up early, as usual!

My side work for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day is done.

Shrimp and crudités are chillin’ for tonight with some crackers, cheese, pepperoni, dip, etc…

Bean soup for tomorrow is bubbling, a bonus pan of baked beans is in the oven.

It’s getting to the point where all I need for New Year’s Eve is a bag of Pepperidge Farms Goldfish and a Diet Pepsi.

The side work, filling the ice bin, stocking the fridge.

Maybe it’s a local term that restaurant/diner people use for the time spent filling salt shakers, ketchup bottles, refilling napkins, silverware, etc…

Not really cooking, just getting the little chores done that help to make things go smoothly.

Late this afternoon we had a feast of finger foods. We had cheese balls, egg rolls,
Mini quiche’s and chicken wings. We had 2 bite brownies for dessert. It was all very good.

Made lasagna today. Have enough leftovers to freeze 4 containers.

I had this for "Linner" (my word for a meal that takes place between normal lunch and dinner hours). My son made a big pot of cabbage, most of which is for me since he started his fast today. I'm glad because it is good. I had the cabbage with a Costco rotisserie chicken thigh that I had frozen.

Hopefully I'm having some lovely Prawns and fish for dinner tonight. My son is going to the opening of the new Fish Markets
in Sydney today.

Homemade chicken soup, lots of veg, no sugar (of course!), no fat, no salt. No taste.

Tonight my Neighbour brought around a big bowl of Soup, with a big chunk of pork in it, with a poached egg in it, potatoes and noodles... I'd never had it before... It was delicious until i got half way through it then the salt became intense and too much for me... and I had to throw it away
