That Guy

Nicknames are interesting and often not meant to flatter. Some are obvious, creative, funny, strange or just plain confusing. Anyway, I'm curious, to know how you came about your handle here on Senior Forums.

I'll show you mine if you show me yours . . .

I think I've mentioned that I bought 20 acres last year and plan to build a new house and barn so the ponies can come home. Sometimes I think I'm out of my mind but anyway...... TICA = "Things I Can't Afford". Seemed appropriate to me! I'm hoping that when the new homestead is finished and I'm settled that I can say that TICA is Things I Can Afford!!! Guess we will see how it all turns out!

Ozarkgal..not very original, but I'm a woman living in the Arkansas Ozarks, thus Ozarkgal.
.

Okay, That Guy..give it up..

TICA..good luck with your home building ad(venture).

Tennessee Walking Horses! Excellent.

TICA! I love it. Gotta remember that one and like how it could easily mean just the opposite. Hope that works out.

Ahem. Was enjoying some waves one day along the cliff and when I came in one of the guys told me everybody was saying, "Wow, look at THAT GUY. He's really having fun." Then, shortly after, was out at my favorite spot one evening all alone and loving it when a friend paddle out with another guy. My friend started introducing me and the kid with him said, "Oh, you're THAT GUY who is always out here by yourself and goes in when somebody comes out. Just then, a wave popped up and as I was paddling into it, I replied, "Yep, that's me!" and rode that wave to shore.

So, it stuck...

What an enlightening thread!

That Guy ... That Guy ... didn't they have a sit-com in the '70's named "That Gir-

Oh, wait ... never mind.

My name here is simply a contraction of my name and my title - "Phil" is my name and "Sifu", my Chinese martial arts title (means "teacher" or "professor").

My other names are "Mr. Philstivus", "WolfAmongSheep", "Ink Demon", "Sam Stone", "Phubert", "Brother Philip" and "Sifu Phillipe Louigi Bellafontaine, PhD, OMD" :D

ETA: Oh, and "John Doe", but that's only to the FBI and IRS ...

FishWisher is an easy nom de plume to live up to among the online fishing communities. Some of the guys choose macho names such as SturgeonSlayer, etc. Such names are usually more fantasy than fitting.

I recently signed up in a senior community as BarnSour. Now, that's a name I live up to more and more every day!

(But please, That Guy, I DO NOT want to see yours!)

Sounds fishy. (Sorry. Couldn't resist...)

Some years ago I was on a forum and used the name "Lash Larue"...
Well, it took them about one week to identify me as "Steve" ...

Why use a name that is almost impossible to pronounce ??? That is why I use "Steve" ..
