What's pleased you today? Don't even think about whinging here.

Today my 2 fave gfriends will be coming over for lunch. We haven't seen each other in at least 6 wks...
We've gotten a little rain this morning, but that's ok...the air is now fresh and clean.

I'm making chicken kebobs, pilaf and one of the girls is bringing a version of a summer salad. (cukes, tomatoes, onion and she's adding mozz cheese)

Today the sunshine 🌞 has pleased me......the steroid injection I got..pleased me because it will take my hip pain away .....

...and even tho' the weather was crazy today literally one minute sun, the next overcast...I got some pretty photos..... that pleased me 🥰

Great idea for a thread.

So far today, it's the usual things that make me happy, i.e., family, friends, exercise, meditation, cooking, walks, etc. But the thing is that I am grateful for these things every day. I know that sounds sappy, but truly, I am. 🤗

If something extra happens, I'll come back and gush about it.

I ventured to the top of Mt Dandenong this morning.
The Dandenong Ranges are east of the Victorian city of Melbourne.
Mountain Ash are the predominate trees. They form the temperate rainforest in this high rainfall area.
I will most definitely be returning for photographic purposes.
Todays' venture was a recce only as it was my first time visiting the area.

That rainforest picture is stunning. ☺️

Well, this morning I saw that my expensive Avon order will be here tomorrow.
Avon has Skin So Soft products that mosquitos hate. I am a mosquito magnet.
That made me feel better, now I can go outside this summer.
Does that count?
🤗
I love Avon! Skin-So-Soft is so much nicer than repellant. I need to find an Avon lady again or check online. They used to have a really nice, honeysuckle cream perfume.

Some weeks ago, I sowed some meconopsis seeds. They are gorgeous blue poppies also called Himalayan poppies. They are quite difficult to grow and with the climate changing, even here is the west of Scotland, the conditions are becoming less suitable.

Last year we moved house and I lifted several plants that I had grown several years ago - again from seed and replanted in the new garden. They did well, but the winter and invasive Spanish bluebells were too much for them and I lost them.

So, I am having to start again and sowed these seeds at the owrst time of the year to do so. I thought they would not come to anything but felt I could leave them until winter when they may show some signs of germination. Today, I noticed 4 tiny seedlings poking through the vermiculite. That made me smile.

Skin So Soft is onsale Online at Avon if you shop that way.
Better get it now, I do not know when the sale ends.
Also they could run out of stock like everything else seems to have done.
🤗

How do you get such great color in your photos?
that's the colour here in this part of the UK..we're surrounded by colour

I remember once flying back into the uk.. and there were 2 blokes in the seats behind us... and as we started the descent , one said to the other '' you'd think they manufactured Chlorophyll in the uk, everything is sooo green '''

Congratulations Ossian. I’ve tried growing them too but with much less success. Sunny, Mediterranean climate of California didn’t suit them. They flowered faintly, almost against their will.

I never thought I'd be able to, but I slept straight through the night last night. When I woke up I did have to "go", but it was 5am and I got 8-1/2 hours of sleep anyway, so I got up.
I got up four times last night to go and was only able to go twice. I don't have any problem during the day, so WTF is the deal at night? It's really annoying.

DOH! I did it again! I need to stop all this whining.

Okay, here goes... I was able to go twice last night, and I'm also able to go during the day without any problem! Life is good!

Went to the library today which I haven't done since 2020 when the local branch was closed; you know why. Enjoyed it thoroughly and checked out two books: The Age of Entitlement: America Since the Sixties, a history by Christopher Caldwell, and Alienated America: Why Some Places Thrive While Others Collapse, by Timothy P. Carney. Am into the first one and it is very well written, IMO on a college level, thoughtful and not blaming any one side. It's pleasing because it causes me to think about things in ways I have not thought of before. I hope the second book is as good.

Surprisingly, my library card was expired or ? I had to apply for a new one, no problem. Their policies have changed. Initial check out is now for three weeks (instead of two) and it automatically renews twice for three more weeks each time, as long as nobody has requested a hold on that book, in which case you must return it when due which seems fair. When I told them I do not have email, she said they will call me. On the phone. A real person.

same here it's been like that for many years now... and the maximum amount of books you can borrow each time is 12...

I've checked and, hurray, Amazon carries Avon Skin So Soft. Amazon is my go-to online shop. I probably won't get to take advantage of the sale, though. Oh, well. :)
Skin So Soft Bonus-Size Original Bath Oil 24.6 oz
Amazon wants $34 plus tax, plus shipping if you do not have Prime.
I paid $29.81 that includes shipping and tax.
I also noticed that I needed to be logged into my Avon account to see the sales.

Hope you get yours soon.
If you are anything like me you do not want those creepy bugs biting you.
There are some cool bugs, not all of them bite.. 🦋 🐞

I also use skin-so-soft..it's the best. That's about the only thing I order from Avon though. It's harder to find a Avon rep these days, especially since I'm no longer working.
