lol...same here!Oh, jeez, yep I forgot about the maple syrup too -- only a tad of about a tablespoon or so. Not more than that. But let me say, it's only REAL maple syrup. Aunt Jemima and Mrs. Butterworth are not invited to breakfast in my house.

lol there are countless flavors . I buy the instant maple syrup tasting and great .Ugh. My last mouthful of oatmeal was om my 8th birthday. I remember sitting at the table, with it in my mouth, unable to swallow it for fear of my gag reflex coughing it right back up.
For the life of me, I will never understand how people can eat that stuff. The smell, the consistency. Blech.
It's like a bowl of vomit.
Arkansas is grits territory is it not ?Oh, jeez, yep I forgot about the maple syrup too -- only a tad of about a tablespoon or so. Not more than that. But let me say, it's only REAL maple syrup. Aunt Jemima and Mrs. Butterworth are not invited to breakfast in my house.
I also buy Bob’s red mill steel cut oats. The only kind I use. I like that I can make it in my instant pot.I ate plenty of McCann's Irish oats, steel-cut, (my father referred to them as "horse oats") but switched to Bob's Red Mill in 25lb bags. It's way cheaper and more convenient to have inventory in bulk, but the Irish oats taste slightly different, slightly better.
Prep is w water, salt, flax seed, frozen blueberries, and a whole almonds. The almonds supply some protein and of course blue berries for the blue food group.
They are steel cut, not rolled. I use 45 grams per day so 25lbs is about a 250 day supply. In 250 days I might eat something other than oats 1x/month.How long does it take you to go through a 25 pound bag of rolled oats?
I like Better Oats brand of rolled and steel cut oats and Mountain House brand granola and oats, all flavors. If it’s plain oats, I add peanut butter and top with berries if I have them.Mine is apple whats yours
I want the authentic Irish steel cut oats. I like it with honey, a pat of butter, and small amount of cream added. I will sometimes add blueberries or strawberries in season. Raisins are good as well.
Sounds delicious @PeppermintPatty I love raisins as a snackI like slow cooked oatmeal using apple juice instead of water. While it’s cooking , I add some chunked apple pieces and raisins. When it’s fully cooked I add cinnamon and nutmeg a bit of maple syrup and milk.
It’s delicious.
I suppose so, but I don't eat grits. I'm originally from Michigan, where "grits" is usually something you find on a roadway.Arkansas is grits territory is it not ?
Love grits .
That's kinda my reaction to grits. Lots of people like to doctor that stuff up with butter, salt, pepper, eggs, cheese. In the end, grits look like yellowish pus.Ugh. My last mouthful of oatmeal was om my 8th birthday. I remember sitting at the table, with it in my mouth, unable to swallow it for fear of my gag reflex coughing it right back up.

Comparing Bob's Red Mill steel cut oats to any "rolled oats" would be like comparing a good tuna steak to canned tuna.I also buy Bob’s red mill steel cut oats. The only kind I use. I like that I can make it in my instant pot.
I’m with you.I like my oatmeal with bacon. And without oatmeal![]()
